one of my good friends just landed a job more or less because he plays WoW.
the position was supposed to require a 4 year degree and 2+ years of in-industry experience. he has neither. he has taken a few college courses, but has no experience.
however, the person that got him the interview, the person that interviewed him, and one of his new managers, all play WoW.
he now makes more money than some of my friends with engineering degrees and several years of experience.
