    i would rather poke a pencil in my eye than run my home network over wireless "broadband". even if you get it all to work, good luck in trying to stream HD videos over the net. torrents? not a chance. you're going to hit some type of limit with them and someones going to get pissed. too bad FiOS isn't available yet in my area.

    Slashdot should auto-append the browser you post with. Would make people think twice about posting stupid statistics that can be spun in any direction that helps prove your aimless argument.     Benchmark Automation is selling a Linux Based DVR with IP cameras. Their system is decent. You can tag the video with information and search on it later. They currently are focused on the Steel Industry. Their system is written in Java. The only complaint that I have about the system is that the system requires 5 TB of disk space to record 22 cameras at 5fps. At roughly 40 grand for a system, its not cheap.
