Version 1.0.1 is supposed to be on the CVS server right now, if you don't know how to download from it just read the help they have on their site :)
Playing DVDs in linux would be great, but how would the OS really support it. I mean, just look at mpg's, the only decent player out there is mpgtv and it really doesn't work that great.
