I would really like projects like Tor, and I2P to get more support. Even the United States has problems with net filtering and network shaping. The more the telcos and government try to regulate the internet, the more people will turn to projects like these. Like trying to firmly grasp water in your hands.
Its not that its more humane to drown the pirates then to shoot them in the head, its a simple matter of insurance. The insurance price for a ship with guns is astronomically higher then one without. This is such a big deal that the merchant ships, such as the ones in this article, are looking for a way to protect themselves, and yet not pay the extra insurance costs.
Well actually there is a new start up type company called "Stuph Labs" that offers Linux training to the unwashed masses. they tend to focus on teaching secretaries and the like, but its for anyone really. Check them out if your interested.

I just keep my/home on a separate partition. This frees up my main Linux / partition free for all the reinstall(s) or reformatting I can handle. Also, I have my/home partition backed up every 2 weeks or so, depending on how much data throughput it has experienced.
Hmmmn.. I have but a humble comment here, but remind me didn't we already pay millions if not billions in tax dollars to these extortionairy companies (at least the Bell companies) to get Fiber lines to our Houses?! At least they could deliver the fiber from the money we've already payed them, even if we wont get increased bandwidth until they make a firm decision on the HD iptv debacle. I realize that bandwidth is expensieve and that these companies have a priority to the stockholders, (IE why they cheaped out and cheated us out of our fiber) but all the same if they really did take those vast sums of money from us in order to get us Fiber to our houses, we should at least see some progress.
Hmmn, this has me all excited at the prospect of having a 2 major processor vendors. Look at all the good the Ati and nVidia rivalry has caused. I can only hope the same applies here. On that note the last decent workstation processor Intel has made was the Pentium 3.

Wow, I sincerely hope they have an enormous amount of bandwidth because the Slashdot effect on an 8.5 giga-pixel photo would be rediculious.
Rofl, its Earthworm Jim! Anyone remember him?
