I've seen both, talk about paying a crap load of money for not much. The only people buying these systems are either trying to impress their friends, too stupid to know the difference or are trying to make up for a physical shortcoming.
As far as service goes, I would have to say it's got to get better going to Dell. Though the service is outsourced to India, I have always had satisfactory results when I have had to call. The trick is though to buy from the small business segment. From what I have heard from people who have bought Aliens, their CS is probably some of the worst in the industry. As I understand it the only way it could get worse is if they didn't answer the phone at all.
