Luckily for you there are people like me who will share the burden you place on society.
What do you do? Look at extra ads? What a retard.
I use adblock+, everyone who's computer I service uses FF + adblock+. I am going to make sure tomorrow I convert at least 5 new people. Just to piss you off.
Look at the two logos in the linked article. They're quite different. Do you really think Apple has the right to any stylised apple logo? Or perhaps they were going after someone small so they can show they've been defending their trademark should a real infringement occur.
No, only when they release a game-changer like the iPhone.
Hahahaahahahahahahahaha! Awesome - better than I was expecting. Game changer? Of course!. Noone's released a locked down, tied to a contract smartphone before! Thanks Apple! You've changed the game for us!!!!!!
BTW, do you have to expend some effort to maintain this snotty git character of yours, or is it just your everyday personality?
You see - this is the difference between you & others. I know your personality is (shudder) natural.
You don't recall Apple suing one of its fanbase (a student & lifelong fan), a web design school (who mostly used Apple's products), New York (for daring to use an apple in a environmental awareness campaign) and of course Psystar (attempting to resell OS X).
I could go on & on. Sure. Plenty of people sue Apple (just like any other big tech corp), but Apple's penchant for pulling out the legal guns against small operators (and its fanbase) makes it stand alone in the tech crowd.
...the basic legal requirements surrounding email and document retention to The Standard. "If litigation is anticipated, the party has a duty to preserve potentially relevant documents"
The thing here is that litigation is always anticipated at Apple - if they're not currently suing someone, its because they're getting ready to sue. (or the legal team are on holiday [legal team pictured on the right hand side of that photo])
The other point worth noting here is that an electronic document retention policy is only a good thing to have if you're confident your employees are acting ethically (or at least unaware of any breaches).
MS offers an excellent platform for MS to make money on. Third party developers, not so much.
As usual, you've completely missed the point. Google (like MS before them) is going to offer a more open platform, that will fill far more niches than Apple's offering.
The spread of the platform will make it far more attractive to developers.
The mac pro with 2,5 GHz processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB drive and nVidia 8600 with 512MB RAM is 2799.
Well, you've got to add $50 to up the HDD to the 7200rpm/sata equivalent in the Dell for $2099.
Making the difference, a not inconsiderable $750 - the Mac is a third more expensive than a Dell that gives twice the 3dmark performance. (this is what we're discussing remember).
More expensive yes...$2000 more, no.
That will teach me not to use the first two links I find! (well - probably not).

Awesome! Can you tell me more about this new political force? I'm going to try to become a US citizen by 2012, just so I can vote for "Thousands of people"
it would show the doctors that this person has AIDS, so proper precautions should be taken
As no system is foolproof, proper precautions should be taken with all patients.

We're gonna throw dinner rolls at one another?
Amazingly enough, the term bunfight has nothing to do with fighting or buns (or indeed food of any sort).
Oh well, it's not exactly like it's the first time a Briticism has been used incorrectly on /.
Q: Should We Clone a Neanderthal?
A: God Yes.
For no other reason than to provoke the religious crazies. Hahahaha - the bunfight will be spectacular (yes, this is inevitable, eventually).
Tattoo it to their genitalia. That way, nobody would know except for the people they deliberately tried to infect.
Unless they had an accident, needed surgery & the Doctors / Nurses refused to work on them?
I don't want to Godwin this thread early, but forcible tattooing is really not a particularly civilised idea....
Oh FFS,
Look at the two logos in the linked article. They're quite different. Do you really think Apple has the right to any stylised apple logo? Or perhaps they were going after someone small so they can show they've been defending their trademark should a real infringement occur.
Now, maybe you want to deny it, but the fact is that the iPhone changed the game.
You haven't explained (or even attempted to) why this makes android irrelevant.

Erm? Really? You cannot be serious?

once the iPhone SDK came out, Android became pointless.
Hahaha. That is classic. I guess you think once Apple releases anything, the competitor's version becomes pointless?
Please - enlighten me. Tell me (tell us all) how the iPhone SDK makes Android pointless. I await your informative reply with bated breath.
Sure it will, right around the time that Linux takes over the desktop.
Again, you've utterly missed the point - Linux on the desktop has no backer, two entrenched competitors (one of whom is a convicted monopolist).
No such situation exists in the smartphone space. It's more analogous to the portable music player market prior to Apple entering that market.

GP It will be far more attractive for developers than a single, proprietary platform like the iPhone.
JCR Want to bet?
I'm willing to bet that back in the day you thought Apple offered a more attractive platform for developers to make money on than MS did too.
And people who would post such an assholish comment about any widely defined group of people aren't idiots?
But the GP didn't say "Apple users", (s)he said "Apple fanboys". That's not a widely defined group of people.
the Dell is slightly cheaper, better for gaming,
Jeeze - I can't believe it took you that long a post to agree with me!
You should see the frame rate I get from nethack!

They're mac benchmarks. Not OS X benchmarks.
RTFA & you'll see the guy (like everyone with a mac it seems) is running XP or Vista.
The more relevant question is, are they priced competitively for their performance?
Well, you can get a Dell XPS M1730 that'll give you double the 3dmark score for about $2000 less than the new macbook pro.
But I'm sure the Apple faithful will be along to correct me shortly - there's no Apple tax right guys?
I thought Slashdot was exclusively iPhone oriented?
I feel betrayed. BETRAYED I tells ya.
That's advice you would do well to take, troll.
As they say... "takes one to know one". Troll.
