You are so right with #3. I spent months looking for a job in North Carolina, but there were so many people with equal or better qualifications that the chances of me finding anything were slim to none.
I had to move 1200 miles away to Fort Worth, Texas to find work. Even then, I still consider myself lucky to have this job. My only fear is that what happens if the staffing company I work for loses their contract with the business that is outsourcing it's IT department to us. I don't want to get back into the same boat I was in NC. Especially now that I've essentially put all my eggs in one basket.
Aldi! I went to an Aldi once in Raliegh. They most definitely have Walmart beat on pricing. The only difference being is that instead of shelves and aisles with goods stacked on them, there were just...piles...of stuff...mountains of ramen noodles, I tell you!
developers are already having a hard time coping with Cell's 7 or 8 cores for the PS3. IBM had to release a proprietary compiler (octopiler) to calm down the coding cries.
Wouldn't 48 cores be a developer's nightmare?

Competition is good for the market. eBay (and friends) needs to cowboy up and start innovating, or drawing support the old fashioned way.
