Because they want Apple to be an evil censor engaged in a cover-up. It is consistent with their world view and makes them feel better about their other inadequacies.
The problem is that half the whiners do not own an iPhone 4. Of the half that do have it, they only experience the problem if they hold it that way intentionally. Of the remaining 25% only 5 people have actually bothered to call Applecare. Of those 5 people, they have allmhad their phones exchanged for iPhone 4s that work flawlessly.
Get on your satellite radio and flip through the channels from the 40s to the 90s repeatedly. Almost all "Pop" music sounds ridiculous out of its time. Every decade is lucky if it produces more than 10 musical artists that will not sound absurd in 10 years, let alone 40.
It is about as valid a story as 5 out of the last 10 Apple stories..Onion fantasy is not all that different from BGR fantasy, it just tends to be funnier.
Mislead much:) The actual link to hockey on Wikipedia discusses both Field Hockey and Ice Hockey, you linked to the field hockey page with the word hockey.
1. Who gives a crap? 2. Why throw out your integrity for something so trivial? 3. There is no 3, because like Benny Hill and Monty Python, both of them suck.
We did not even need a passport to go into parts of Canada or Mexico until last year. Maybe if you understood the world better, your opinions would not looks so Moronic.
You should note that North America is nearly two and a half times the size of Europe. (24 million sqkm versus 9.9 million sqkm). Why does well traveled have to involve international borders? Why do Americans have to travel outside of an area 2.5 times bigger than 99% of those Europeans to be considered well traveled.
It is always amusing when the truly ignorant try to put you down. Get over yourself and learn a little. The average European travels considerably less than the average American (Mileage, unique places visited, time away from home), the only way you win is on crossing national borders. You focus on that and call Americans less traveled.
Pretense is particular amusing in morons. Good day to you sir.
Nearly everyone on the mainland in this hemisphere considers themselves Americans. Most of them actually take offense to the uneducated masses on the other side of the world who are incapable of knowing the difference.
Now you are on the edge of pissing of the Canadians, I am certain you don't want that. Piss them off enough and they will set down their beer and respond.
It is pushing it to assume Slashdot Europeans are not arrogant pricks. Why not go to one of your own sites and talk about all of the exciting technology being.. Oh nm, that was below the belt. You can stay here. Please try to keep your pretention to a minimum.
I am all for privacy. I also agree private companies should be allowed to make the rules for what happens on their land.
People in public places do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy however. If their image is not being used for some commercial purpose, they should get over it.
I have been through emigration and immigration checkpoints all over the world and they nearly universally ban cameras, audio recording, and mobile phones. If this was an airline check in counter and not a government checkpoint, I do not understand the ban.
If it was an airline counter, it is a local law or airline policy and not the result of any US law or requirement.
You are lying, or your iPhone friends are lying. I believe every statement in your post is a lie actually. Go away.
1. Obviously this depends on usage. Since there is nothing to do on your bright happy phone, the battery may as well last forever. My iphone battery easily makes it through the day with a few hours of talk, some angry birds, 20-30 emails ( writing) and hours of music. The fact that your phone drops 70% of the battery idle should concern you.
2. Really you made bars drop WOW! Give me your phone, I can do it on there too. Who cares? Maybe one of your iPhone 4 friends will loan you their phone when you can't get a signal.
3. Overpriced? Compared to what? Doesn't it seem strange to you that you consider the best selling smartphone in the world to be overpriced. (It is too, re-read what I said and then look it up). Perhaps you are unable to perceive the value because you have some very odd biases.
4. Poor iPhone developers only made a billion dollars in the last two years. Hows do you suppose writing for Android might work out for them? You are simply clueless. People buy the software in large part because they have confidence. This is good for both customers and developers. Both have benefitted tremendously. You could not (because no one ever has) name one specific thing that anyone would want on the iPhone that they can not have because of Apple's developer policies. (This is where you say something about a Wifi router because you have terrible reading comprehension).
He seems like a person who is able to objectively look at a situation and evaluate the merits of it. The GGP was clearly someone colored by some bizarre technical bias and a reading comprehension problem.
After your done testing, you should get a microcell for your house. $150 and you will have a strong signal and unlimited minutes while connected to it:)
iOS developers have made over $1 billion over the past couple years (not counting ad revenue some earned in free aps that Apple distributed for free). They are so abusive! Let's all go develop for Android, it's open and free!! Except of course when it's not.

Your post should be given a score of 10 and pasted to the bottom of the story.

Just get of his lawn and everything will be ok...

I agree, neither of them were really funny either.
Good times.. I am sure we have all done it.
Yeah it is much better to insult a bunch of people, clients love that ;)
You learn to educate yourself and rely on news headlines. ..

This is clearly the UK. Never has a country been more accurately described. Thank you.
Your assuming a lot. If all we have to go by is the Europeans on /., it is safe to assume there are no educated people outside the US.
It is pushing it to assume Slashdot Europeans are not arrogant pricks. Why not go to one of your own sites and talk about all of the exciting technology being.. Oh nm, that was below the belt. You can stay here. Please try to keep your pretention to a minimum.
Don't need history. If the queen is an entire hockey team, We is obviously correct.

Apparently. unless they want to buy drugs.
I always suspected you were here Hammer.
