people have babies because that's what we're on this earth to do. your DNA is the only part of you that will live on after you're gone. some other things may live on (example: albert einstein's legacy), but those things aren't your physical self.. the only PHYSICAL part of you that can live on is your DNA
People who "choose" to not have kids are basically saying "my dna is worthless". the problem is that most people don't see it that way.. all they see is that it's "fashionable" these days to not have kids.
