It does laminated coloured covers, so it probably can print out images too within the book. That would be helpful for textbooks and more physics- or children-minded books too, they do contain diagrams and such that would need some image handling printing to be able to be printed properly.

  2. Authentic? on Utube Sues YouTube · · Score: 1
It seems to me everyone thinks this is just a way to get free advertising for Universal Tube. I just can't help but think of the amount of their bandwidth that is being sucked up by this new traffic. If they have a set limit of bandwidth and pay over a certain amount used, their bills probably amount to millions now; and the lack of banners on their frontpage indicates that they haven't decided to make money out of the new audience they get.

It is indeed interesting that they only sue after Google has set its views on YouTube, yet could it be because of this very reason? Google's name has probably raised the traffic to YouTube even more than what it was before; and handling more traffic might be a big problem with Universal Tube. After all, they had to shut down their website for several days, indeed affecting the commercial potency of their website. I would be more doubtful of more recent websites like utube.co.uk, .net or .org who seem to ride YouTube's wave.

  3. Internet mandatory? on Microsoft DRM To Get Even Tighter · · Score: 1
'If the file is a song you ripped from a CD with the Copy protect music option turned on, you might be able to restore your usage rights by playing the file. You will be prompted to connect to a Microsoft Web page that explains how to restore your rights a limited number of times.'

So basically, if you buy your computer for home use and still have limited or non-existent internet connection, or simply wish not to go on that scary virus/worm/pop-up infested land of the internet, you cannot play your music?
I wonder if Microsoft will pay for my 10 minutes dial-up internet connection to their webpage which will explain me why I can't play the music off the CD I bought because I have a brand-new computer with great speakers, including by default a media player that should allow me to play my CD.
All DRM things aside, internet is still not available to everyone everywhere. It might be time for 'software providers' to take that into account when they create their applications.

Oh, you care if you have to live with drastic recycling duties and get fined for putting the wrong item in the wrong bin/case (or your rubbish stays where it is...). Some cities in England have to face that, with very odd requirements at times. More info here: Daily Mail Article.

Not to mention the fact that it is basically impossible to leave your house without being filmed.
I saw a report a few years back of the way people lived in Iceland. There you truly do not have any chance of going outside your house without being filmed. You can easily acknowledge that fact by watching one of the tv channels which feeds off street cameras for anyone with spare time on their hands to watch. Some most 'respectable' people can call the police on a special number in case they see a crime being commited, however petty. I'm not sure this exists anymore, but it was tried and enforced for a while.

That's the kind of website you usually lose interest in fairly quickly due to their lack of consideration for non-IE internet users.... I, for one, never go further than that advice and look for information or business elsewhere.

The real problem with that "opt out" scheme would be to be able to identify the real owner of the accounts as far as email goes at least. Unless everyone uses their real name and information when setting up email accounts now?
