  1. The Great Ubuntu Community on Linux Snobs, The Real Barriers to Entry · · Score: 1

As a recent convert to Linux, I can say from my own experience that it wasn't the coolest new version of some package that awoke my interest. It was the ubuntuforums.org community. When I saw the level of support and the way users clearly had a common goal, I realized it was time to leave windows behind. And best of all its been a succesful transition due to the great support I recieved when I had problems. There is no one simple Linux users manual. Most people dont have a freind they can ask for help, like with Windows. There are truly brilliant people out there, and I would as them, istead of feeling great that you have more knowledge than others, try feeling great by helping others and furthering something that is truly important: a community that believes in free software, that believes information and the access to it should never be restricted or controlled. Adopt a newbie today!!!

  3. Read the article carefully! on Prayer Does Not Help Heart Patients · · Score: 1

Amazing how many commenters dont seem to have even read the article! "However, six-month mortality was lower in patients assigned bedside MIT, with the lowest absolute death rates observed in patients treated with both prayer and bedside MIT." Wow, I'd like to be in the lowest mortality rate group myself, in fact, Id even say the treatment worked! Read on please: "While it's clear there was no measurable impact on the primary composite endpoints of this study, the trends and behavior of pre-specified secondary outcome measures suggest treatment effects that can be taken pretty seriously..." Krucoff added. Im not arguing for or against prayer, but I'd like to point out to you that the pre-secondary outcome showed mesuarable success. And for me SURVIVING is a pretty important outcome. Ok, now go back to your squabbles over whether God is overrated.
