I don't want to do an oneupmanship but, I remember a terminal that was an acoustic coupler and had a printer. This was around 1970 or 1971. The place was the Natick Mass public library http://local.yahoo.com/details?id=10081634&stx=public+library&csz=Natick+MA&ed=Q62W7q160SxXo0Jcd7NUnzJsRqu.7m6umZtosinaasqCRlW3Kw1k384.t95KKBbbJ2JDlW2O

I remember having to walk there after first grade or so and dialing a phone number from a list of instructions. I remember the phone number being some college but don't know which... (MIT)????

There was a sign up list for this terminal and I would always try to sign up for an hour block that had nobody signed up for the next several hours.

I would spend hours at this terminal trying to race a US postal truck around a race course that printed out on these rolls of paper. I probably still have these rolls somewhere as I remember I kept them through at least high school.

I wish someone else had some more detail on what that terminal was connected to.

Anonymous Coward... Who said I was good.... Just because I've play a lot of kits doesn't mean that I am any good at it. I do know the feel of a good drum kit and how/placement of drums, should be to get the most out of them. This "Drum Controller" is just trash. I will say again even being modded as troll since the last modder didn't read the sentence... The game should be played on a real set of drums. None of the simulation of the "Drum Controller" will easily transfer to a real set. Why waste time on this simulation if you really want to learn how to play drums???? Or are there jobs out there for the best "Drum Controller" player??? Mod me as flamebate... But when are they coming out with a "I've got a real job controller"?? or a "move out of parents basement controller"??? "College degree controller"??? Is is just simulation isn't it???? Nathan

Having several several drum kits in my basement and been a drummer for the last oh... 30 years, I'm wondering kids playing this "Drum Controller" will actually think that one day they will be able to play real drums.

I've played Guitar Hero with the "Guitar controller" and it is nothing like playing a real guitar. Even the $3,000 electronic drum kits you find in the music stores don't compare to the real set of drums. There is nothing like the kick back feel of a 22 inch bass drum for doing your doubles or triplets with a peddle. That plastic thing must be annoying.

Even cymbals when you hit them move and have a feed back feel to them, nothing like even the plastic things on the most expensive electronic drum kits.

The only real way to play the game should be on a real set of drums.

Maybe one day they can come up with a "College Controller" or a "Engineering controller" or even a "Rocket science controller". Naahh..... Too much effort.

I did the same thing with the Breaking Benjamin CD Phobia. I found a FLAC rip on mininova. I had heard a song or two on the radio and wanted to hear more.

I downloaded the entire album and listened to it. After several days, I though it was good enough to purchase. I went down to Best Buy and purchased it. I have a copy of the receipt that I would love to post here, but can't.

I left the CD on the counter at the check out lane. The check out girl said "Don't forget your CD". I told her that I didn't need the CD that I already had downloaded it.

I have a whole wall full of CD's. I don't have any more space for them. The receipt is all I need, and well hard drive space that is now dirt cheap.

Just imagine how much the artist would have made if I could have purchased it directly from them.

AND the first thing that stuck out in my mind was the length of the review of the gPC. It is three times as long as the other Compaq, Dell and eMachine reviews.

Wouldn't an unbiased review spend about the same amount of time on all machines reviewed?

The article writer went out of his way to embellish all the bad things about this one computer. To me that means a bias against this computer, and a bias in the review. He focuses on the bad to drive people away from a purchase of this computer. Why??

I say follow the advertising dollars.

    Again, nothing to see here.

I'm staring at 42 years old in less than a month. I've donated blood all of my adult life, I'm working on my 6th gallon.

Starting 2 years ago, I started being differed from donating blood because of my high blood pressure. My dad had extreme high blood pressure until he died, my older brother has high blood pressure. Both of them have/had been taking high blood pressure medication.

I went to the doctor spring of 2006 for a cold. My doctor took my blood pressure at 162/110. He wanted to start me on blood pressure medicine. I refused. I wasn't going to start taking medication every day.

I started trying to ride a bicycle for exercise. I started out riding to the end of my street and back, not more than 200 yards or so with a slight hill out so coming back was down hill. After 1 month or so of trying to do that every other day or so, I attempted to ride around the neighborhood. Probably half mile. At the end of the summer last year my blood pressure was down enough that I was able to donate blood again.

I stopped riding a bicycle for the winter. My blood pressure started to creep up but not high enough to where I was differed from giving blood.

I started riding again back in the end of February this year. I now put my bicycle in the back of my truck and drive to the nearest shopping mall to my job. I park my truck get the bicycle out of the back and ride the rest of the way to work, 6 miles. That is 12 miles a day.

My blood pressure is now normal and I have dropped 20 pounds since the end of February. I now weigh in the 175 to 180lbs range. I'm 6'1".

There is nothing like a bunch of exercise to do you a world of good.

Again, your lack of knowledge is astounding. The latest release of OS/2 was last year(2006). There is another release scheduled for the end of this year or the beginning of next.

I can find support for almost every add on card on the shelf right now at CompUSA or BestBuy. As a matter of fact, I was adding SATA drives to an older computer of mine and bought an off the shelf CompUSA SATA add in card. The DANI drivers from http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/ supported it.

The USB drivers for OS/2 support my Linksys 200M wireless USB Ethernet adapter to.

To further your knowledge on OS/2 why don't you try a live CD of the latest release of OS/2 http://www.ecomstation.com/democd/ It runs on every computer I have tried here at work. Why don't you download it and try to find a computer that it won't run on.

Sometimes I think it is funny the lack of knowledge people exhibit about OS/2 and then claim to be an authority on it.

Your lack of knowledge is just sad.

Yes, I am for real. You say that out of shear ignorance. But, say it all you want. I have yet to find hardware that won't run OS/2. There might be bleeding edge hardware that there is no support for, but, I can always find an add in card as a replacement that has current support. Also, it is very easy to port your linix distro stuff to OS/2. There is also a current version of Open Office for OS/2. When you want to live outside of your comfort windoze zone, you will find nobody really needs Microsoft any more. There are several great alternatives, OS/2 being one of them. Nathan
