It's silly compareing the number of lines of code in Linux to the number of lines of code in Windows or any other single platform operating system. Linux runs on x86, PPC, ARM, Sparc, MIPS, 68000, Alpha, and many other processors. I've never seen Windows (NT) running on anything but x86 and Alpha. We're talking apples and oranges.
