Most roads around here (Ventura County, USA) do NOT have real-time traffic information or any information about constructions, closures, etc. Just the main highways. Likewise in Los Angeles. Get off the freeways and major highways and you'll get a map - and that's it.
Fact is two people should be able to enter into their own contract without a jealous third party getting shitty that the buyer isn't forced to buy from their shitty overpriced monopoly. You want to go classic taxi? You are free to do so. The rest of us should be able to do as we wish.
Uber rides are NOT two people entering their own contract. Uber contracts with drivers. You contract with Uber. Uber pairs a rider and driver. The rider pays Uber. Uber pays the driver. It's as much a "two person contract" as when I buy milk at the grocery store and the checkout lady rings up the price.
In California, there is NO course required. Simply a 20 question test. I know, I took it prior to purchasing a firearm. And the record of my test is good for 5 years, at which time I need to take the test again.
It's perfectly legal for college-age adults to purchase firearms. If they have the legal right to do so - why not educate them about HOW to own them (if they so choose)?
FWIW, most military bases are gun-free zones. You are not allowed to carry firearms unless you are an MP. Yes, it makes zero sense, but that's the actual regulation.
Hey, it's a great ride! Up the 101, back down much of the PCH... I've gone that far on a Saturday just for fun. To me, it's not a "commute" it's a chance to get on my motorcycle and get out of town and just spend 5 hours alone. To me, it's great. Now, traveling into LA with the gridlock down there (where it takes over 2 hours to cover 10 miles) would be hell. But 5 hours at 70 MPH on a bike? Heaven for me...
Lots of homes at that price point in San Bernardino, Barstow, Palmdale, and other places East of LA... Same in Eastern Ventura County in Santa Paula. Or central Ventura County in places like Ojai and Oxnard and even Ventura (the city). All within about an hour drive of Los Angeles.
I did that very thing last Friday. Ventura to Mountain View and back. Almost 660 miles round trip. Single day. I do it every month or so, for work. Of course, I ride a motorcycle and it was a beautiful ride, and I filled up twice each direction - but each stop only took 5 minutes.
Umm, no. This entire thread is about NEW e-mails that were uncovered that she did NOT turn over - but were clearly sent to a Government address, related to her work, and should have been archived. Ms. Clinton was the sole arbiter over what was relevant - and now we have proof that she did not do that appropriately. Were there other e-mails that were betwen herself and her aides that were completely contained on her server - and deleted illegally? We only have "her word" - and she's proven (multiple times) that she will lie about that.
CFR 1222 covering archival of Government communications was in effect from 2002, and State Department 12 FAM 541 to 12 FAM 545 covers sensitive but unclassified information (which includes things like meetings, schedules, promotions, personnel discussions) was in effect from 2005. She broke both of those, and they were in place for years before she was appointed SoS.
Not a mod right now (no points), but for something that's mildly amusing, I give a "+1 Funny". For something REALLY funny I give a "+1 Insightful" so that some karma is earned.
Had one - never turned out anything other than a pile of goo. Tried two units, same results. They blamed it on bad materials, bad setup, etc. After that was all covered and eliminated, it was a factory-misaligned mirror - and I was supposed to spend the 5-6 hours to try to calibrate it. Took 6 months of fighting to get them to take it back.
Take a look at the 5th generation Maserati Quattroporte. If you don't see a lot (a LOT) of similarities with the Tesla, you're not being honest.
As far as von Holzhausen, he also did the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky, the new (1997+) Beetle, and the Mazda Kabura. Come to think of it, perhaps it's a good thing he took inspiration from Maserati rather than trusted his own instincts, given the appearance of the other notable cars in his career...
You used that word "reasonable". Most of those trying to build new-tech companies don't understand that word. Forced death-marches, forced cross-country relocations (move or lose your job), timelines that no one - even their competition - says you can meet. That's not reasonable. But it's all about the few founders and their attempt to break into the billionaire's club, employees and customers be damned...
To put the Tesla volume in production, Maserati (the car from which the Tesla S was cloned) outsold Tesla in 2014. And Maserati is a no-sales-volume brand, same type of car (luxury 4 door), sells to the same consumers, at about the same price.
Never been near the ocean have you? Wind tends to die down as the sun sets - every sailor knows that...
Ask PETA or Greenpeace or EarthFirst. They'll probably have a different view than you...
As humans are not generally sold and bought, there are some additional challenges to even define what "value" of a human means.
About a thousand dollars to buy a person if we go by the open markets in the Middle East...
Get the dosage wrong, though, and you end up with a building full of Smurfs!

So you're saying he's only mostly dead?

To me, the X looks a lot like something you can buy for $27K from Honda.

Just curious - which Republican voted for the ACA?

Went to a Stratasys and never looked back.

Put that speculation in perspective: Uber is worth more than both of them according to those speculative investors.
Uh, the S class tripled the Tesla S sales in 2014. BMW didn't triple the Tesla S, they just beat it by 50%. And Audi did the same as BMW. Reality is quite a bit different than what the Tesla fans often claim.
