Once you get used to 8xAA and 16xAF, you simply cannot stand jagged edges and shimmering textures any longer. I don't enjoy console games just like I don't enjoy playing PC games without AA&AF. Call me snobbish and I'll call you unsophisticated.;)
Yes, the cheap stuff might do for most people but what do you care if I invest a little more to fully enjoy the games I play?
