You will definately want to see these in case one of your family members or friends starts to push you to take a weekend course "that will create new possibilities"...
I hate doing this, but it's definitely. DEFINITELY.
Isn't this why we have layers of abstraction, such as high-level programming languages and external libraries?
Sure, if someone who only knew assembler from 20 years ago saw the GUIs present today, they might agree with the article. Imagine if you had to write a Windows application in pure assembler. It would be ridiculous! But we have languages like C# or the Windows API for C/C++ to aid with these kinds of things.
As we progress through time, programmers will simply use higher and higher level languages.

The voter information shown in that screenshot is public information. Anyone can request it from their county clerk.
Actually, turnitin.com gives tells you the percentage match and lets you view the paper you supposedly plagiarized. Apparently my most recent paper submitted this way was 10% plagiarized because someone else happened to use the same references that I did.
As far as I know, the DNS resolution has never been the problem for MySpace loading slowly. It's slow because so many other people are hitting their servers and bandwidth.
Not to mention that it is written in Coldfusion.:P
Similarly, it's illegal to record a telephone conversation without telling all parties on the line that it's being recorded. I think that's federal law.
Actually, only a handful of states require notification of all involved parties. Most only require one-party notification.
...it would provide a financial disincentive for people to use file sharing software for illegal reasons, thus providing the "social solution" to the "social problem" of how to handle mass copyright infringement without DRM or legislation.
This is stupid. You are lumping software pirates with those of us who seed the latest Fedora release over BitTorrent. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to use a lot of bandwidth.
Why would you choose to work on something nobody will care about in 30 (or 300) years?

Perhaps ironically, googling the names reveals that they are already online: http://clerk.co.marion.or.us/election/2006%20PCP%
The premium PDF is an identical copy of the actual article. You aren't missing anything.

It's in that place where I put that thing that time.

I don't think anybody who has neglected to update their copy of XP would be having "No problems".
