But is it? It was foolish to believe the earth was round 5000 yrs ago. It was foolish to believe you could circumnavigate the globe 1500 yrs ago, It was foolish to be able to watch live events on the other side of the planet from where you are 25 yrs ago. Lack of evidence doesn't deny somethings existence, it simply shows unwillingness to view beyond your senses. Everything ever created was done by people willing to view beyond their senses.

so you are suggesting that not being able to defend yourself from a person who can kill at a distance is less dangerous than being able to possess the ability to return that ability? You need to look up amoral violence. And yes there are people out there who will do just exactly that (you are in your home and somone is specifically out to kill you) you don't need to be a gang member. You just need to have stiff or money and that person needs to have a weapon and a need for your stuff. Still you perfer to fight a knife or gun with your hands and feet good luck with that. smh

I'm sorry but you, sir, are wrong. Even the Verizon GNex has an easily unlockable boot loader and VERY good Cyanogenmod support. It absolutely can have the latest firmware, and easily so.

CyanogenMod isn't provided by Google, it's an independent project. The root of this thread was about Google providing updates, so it doesn't really count in this discussion.

If you got a nexus you were expected to upgrade it yourself. Since you didn't, there you go. As for Google providing updates for Nexus it does. It just doesn't push them to you. You need to go get them yourself. The major carriers push them.
