Apparently they are trying to run the website off of the 200mhz processor that is going in these things. I'm slowly building a mirror up; it's taking 30+ seconds per http request with wget, so as I'm writing this only the front page and logo are there. But I'm trying to mirror the whole shebang.
All it's going to do is cause PC makers to build filters into their new PCs. All the dust that accumulates in PC's, especially ones at sit on carpeted floors. Eww!
I wonder how much money they are going to make because their "ultimate banner page" was slashdotted. You've gotta figure there's a sucker born every minute, and some of those suckers are going to click through the ads:-)
Do you find it interesting that Slashdot is the Grand Queen Mother of all geek discussion forums, but most people that post are either deranged, suicidal, or know *way* too much about a topic?:-)
Okay, so you're headed to the next big conference with your coworkers, and you decide to play Counter-Strike. Of course you start talking to each other:
1: "Hey, go look behind that door.. I think he's over there"
2: "I've got a flashbang.. open the door, I'll throw it in."
3: "Okay, I'll run through the door first, my AK47 is full of ammo"
1: "No! Don't shoot the hostages"
About then they'll land at the nearest airport and escort you off the plane..
The Qualcomm PDQ cell phone was a Qualcomm 800 series phone with an integrated palm pilot. Sounds great, right?
You could have done the same job at home, sans the plastic packaging. The Palm pilot was simply thrown in; the only integration was to make the Palm 'dial' the phone. They didn't share a board, components, or anything.
Seriously, if we're going to throw devices together like this, let's do it right.

PS if someone wants to go through and edit the html for grammar, they can email it to me and I'll repost it at the same location. email is slashdot-at-perljam.net
It's pseudocode. Pseudocode doesn't need semicolons. Unless you are actually using the pseudocode compiler (it's available at http://127.0.0.1, at least on my machine).
While this is true, it's not that easy to implement. Say you deny *.googlebot.com. All they have to do is change what domain they are coming from- i.e., move some bots over to *.google.com. Maybe you're going to block 192.215.216.*? Then you just need to buy/reallocate another class C. -ted

Here's my mirror, on a relatively high-availability server: http://www.perljam.net/misc/1u/wtarreau.free.fr/1u /
I don't have the additional images- deal with it.

Doesn't this sound like a slashdotted site waiting to happen?
> Where's the semi-colon?

So let's figure out when they put them all in the pool, and slashdot them!
