For a RPG - Final Fantasy (1 or 7) (Nintendo/PSX)
For a shooter - Duke 3d or Dark Forces (MSDOS)
For an adventure - Under a Killing Moon (MSDOS)
For a sim - Master of Orion (MSDOS)
- Sky Odyssey (PS2)
For a RTS - Red Alert II (Win 9X/XP)
Depending on which game I'm getting stuck in, I'll stick to the same genre
I must admit, I've conned some players in that game... Back in beta, mind you.
I made off with a few million isk, just by convincing someone to do a few things he shouldn't have. I got a scapegoat, a few industrial ships filled with gear, some blueprints for valuable items, and cheers of praise from my corporation.
In real life, it'd be a crime I was caught. In a MMOG, it'd be looked down upon if the truth came to light.
I wasn't caught. I made off like a bandit.
The value of something is dictated by the market demand for it. If something is desirable, it has value. Stealing something in a game is still bad, but it affects a much smaller demographic. Since there's no real, tangible, in-game legal system, nothing can be done.
I had the same problem affecting my family. Unfortunately my grandpa's ailing body caught up with him, leaving my clueless grandmother. She's at the point now where she can't recognize herself in a mirror or what a mirror even does, for that matter. At least I'm glad she doesn't know it's happening to her.
