  1. Use of word consciousness on Patient Revives After 19 Years By Rewiring Brain · · Score: 1

Slightly conscious state, permanently vegatative state. What exactly do these words mean? Ask a doctor to explain, and they will be unable to do so, except for symptoms from such a state. Crap, Minsky has infiltrated my brain, arggghhhh!

  2. They should recruit at MIT Mystery Hunt on 2006 Google U.S. Puzzle Championship is Open · · Score: 4, Informative

One of the more hardcore puzzling events each year is held at MIT. I competed in it this year and had a blast. For more info, go here http://web.mit.edu/puzzle/www/

  3. Re:Brilliant, MIT Media Labs on Working Model of MIT $100 Laptop a Hit · · Score: 1

Remember, this isn't the Media Lab that did this, it was his company he spawned. One good thing does not turn around the 100's of bad ideas that come out of the media lab. CSAIL is where its at!

  4. The key to less slacking on On Point On Slacking · · Score: 1

If you are a boss, and worried about your employees slacking off, just pile up their workload. You also have to make some ridiculous deadlines that you know they won't meet, but that's ok, because you don't expect them to meet these deadlines. This way, they know they are under pressure to get their work done. The key though is not to burn them out, which is done simply by not getting angry when they don't finish on time, that way, they won't stress. The reason I slack off is because I don't have enough work to do, or I have too much time to do the work. (There is also the case in which you don't feel motivated to do the work you are given, in that case you need to find a new job).

  5. Typical EC on Freshman MIT Students Automate Dorm Room · · Score: 3, Interesting

You only find this stuff at EC. After 4 years here at MIT, EC is definitely the most unique group of students. I have to give them credit for the creativity they have, from the disco floor, to their annual rollercoaster during rush, to their naked parties. If you think of MIT students you think of EC. Although, there are "normal" students and "normal" parties at MIT. Baker has the best dorm parties, EC the most unique, Senior Haus the most drug-filled, but they all contribute to the great diversity at MIT.
