"Interestingly, neither of those two things has occurred"
Valerie Plame was an intelligence asset working on tracking WMD, and her identity was leaked by people in the Bush administration. This is such basic knowledge that it isn't worth rehashing.
(Hilariously, this means that either the program continued to operate illegally for "four to five months" or that the administration waited that long before telling congress they needed an *emergency* amendment to FISA or terrists would kill us all right away. Pick one.)
"I know this is slashdot, where uninformed group-think passes for 'intellect' among masses of less-than-moderately intelligent people who desperately want to be perceived as 'smart', but at least make an effort to know what you're talking about."
Yeah, sorry that isn't working out for you so well.
Did I just see you claim that the president, who has claimed up and down that he knew nothing about Plame or who leaked her identity, is a liar? Interesting.
In the states where they set up the stings, propositioning a minor online is itself a crime, and usually a felony. Actually showing up to the house shows that they intended to go through with it. There is no entrapment involved, and the people who modded you insightful are idiots.
"Greiner's article is pretty lame. If it had a bit of background or insight, it could have been a great read. But it's just a list of companies names with a bare minimum of detail. Not even a decent analysis of why they failed."
Well, look on the bright side--at least it was spread out over 19 pages at a few paragraphs per page.
The best way for MS to avoid another Vista-like release isn't to change the UI (didn't Vista do that?). It's not to release another OS at all. Well, not one that doesn't significantly improve on their existing products, anyway.
Sure we invaded. 4 days of bombing is not an invitation to high tea. As for degrading WMD capabilities, I'd say we did a pretty fucking good job of it, since the resumed UN inspections found nothing that could threaten us or our allies. We didn't find anything after the 2003 invasion either. Sounds like 1998 was fairly effective.
The UN inspectors ushered back in in 2002 (you may want to jot down the fact that this is still before GWB's posturing on the matter) also noted that Saddam's WMD capabilities had been utterly devastated in 98-99 and that he couldn't produce shit in the current environment.
Regardless, the fact that Clinton believed Saddam had WMD 9 years ago is irrelevant.
Sure I read it. His claim was that Clinton believed Saddam had WMD. My response was that Clinton made this claim when Saddam actually had WMD, shortly before we destroyed them.
Looks like old Senator Stevens might get to find out that prison is full of tubes, too. Unfortunately they might dump heavy loads into his "truck" and cause some gridlock, but that's to be expected.
Sorry, but when I see a story concerning AT&T these days, all I can think of is how much I would enjoy seeing the company demolished, the CEOs driven before a crowd of angry villagers, lamentation of their women, etc.
What was this article, something about AT&T whining about not being able to screw Google as hard as they screw everyone else, including the American public? I missed most of it. Fuck you, AT&T.
You appear to be one of those people who believe security clearances have a "null and void if someone else did it too" clause. They do not.
Your assertion is based on the fact that you read my post incorrectly. Get it sorted.
I missed the memo in which Bush delegated his instant declassification powers to Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, or Richard Armitage. Please provide a link.
While you're at it, you might as well expand on why you think libertarians (via the libertarian philosophy) are destructive of liberty.

Remember, kids:
Leaking the identity of intelligence assets who are working on WMD matters, in a time of war, is good.
Leaking the existence of a program that has been ruled illegal is bad.
Man, it's going to take at least 10 pirated albums for me to balance the anger I feel at the broadcasters for pulling this stunt.
Maybe 20.

We're glad you asked. Mirrors will soon be banned for private use by the "Anti-Terrorism Mirror" amendment to the Patriot Act this fall.

"And they are approved by the US Senate."
Unless the Senate has the temerity to go on recess, in some cases.
"Had I posted what you posted there would be at least 2"[slap]
Or you could, you know, ignore them?
It's not as if ACs have anything of value to impart anyway. That's why they're ACs. This constant whining about them isn't helping you.

Pretty fucking simple, really.
"Even CLINTON believed they were there."
Yep. In 1998. Then we invaded, destroyed stockpiles, and ushered in the inspection teams.
What that has to do with GWB's claims in 2003 I don't know, but I'm sure that completely unbiased and non-partisan site you linked to has an answer.
"And honestly how many of you guys use a password like YwMCU07D?"
Great--now you've got 8 people making the same joke.
Hot girls at U of K? Heh.
You must be new here.
"And "
You're a fucking moron.
It just gets better every time. Thanks for the suggestion!
"Call me a 'fucking moron' if it will make you feel better"
OK. You're a fucking moron.
You're right, that was quite refreshing.
You may want to brush up on the actual text of the amendments.
Yes, because government agencies and the people who work for them never abuse their authority.
You're a fucking moron, so I guess I have to explicitly point out the fact that I was using sarcasm up there.
Orrin Hatch? Good luck prying his lips off GWB's pulsing rectum long enough to give you a serious response.
