  1. this is bad news on Crusoe To Power Microsoft-Based Tablet PC · · Score: 1

You can look at this information as you will, but we now are in the bed of the enemy. We have lost and M$ is our king. Linux in whatever form is headed for obscurity. Transmeta was our bastion for revolution, now it is the knife cutting our throats. We are now, officially screwed.. OUT

Sooner than later the PC, as our primary method of access to the internet should by some sort of routing-appliance attached through our entertainment consoles, from there we will access the internet via smaller appliances specific to thier utility. commerce, news and entertainment will be better handled by each having thier own protocols and will be "banded" with different frequencies achieving multiple broadband connections through a single medium. In effect the article is true because computer users in the work environment are dependant on windoze and windows compatible software due to ease of installation. the best was for linux to expand more fully into the enterprise market is to create more cross compatible applications. Linux applications that can create files that are easily convertable to windows apps. This wouldallow Linux to be a more viable "option" in the enterprise.

I hope I dont get called to do a service call on one of these. Although, AMD's processors are great the rest of the components have gotta be crap. Consider if nothing else, that the price of just memory has recently shot through the roof because of the earth quake in Taiwan. Computer hardware is one realm where the "ya get what ya pay for" term is really true. God forbid my mother gets one of these. I'll be over there every week. It's a P.O.S.

Thankfully I am among the stupid and uninitiated who have used thier Microsoft product CD's for frizbee's. My Linux box hasn't crashed yet and that is more than I can say about Windows based computer I've owned. Talk all the trash you want, experience tells a different story.
