I always wondered why sgi never sued apple over the use of indigo (sgi has the rights to a computer named indigo, yet one of the iMacs was called indigo).... It seems silly to be fighting over a name.
The fact that it can take weeks to get a land line.... and with a cell phone you only pay for the minutes used, rather then a large monthly bill (basically, if you have have a cell phone, with 20 euros of time on it, then it will last, at no extra cost, 20 euros of call time. Not just when the month runs out). Also, the phones work everywhere. Unlike the US, where, if you are near an interstate you most likely will have service. And the seemingly billion calling plans. As someone with no credit, it is harder for me to get a cell phone in the states then a landline in Italy (or at lest cost me way more money in the long run). And I think that is a telling reason.
I looked at each of these pages and I could not find a listing for myself. Which is a little weird. I have been moving around a lot, but I do have an address that I call home (being that of my parents). I was just wondering if there was any male/female difference with listings (becuase of the draft)? Becuase I know at my home listing in the white pages I am also not in there, though my brother is. Just a thought.
I was always told that I could go and talk to the school, and one day I did. I was getting kicked out of the cafe before my next class started, becsue there was going to be study hall, though I should say that I just sat down, for I had a class and was given 15 minutes to eat. I like to take more time then that. And I did...
So they sent me to the pricable's office. We had a little talk, and basicaly he said that he was not going to change anything, for it was something that had been working for the past 10 years. He asked what class I had. It was gym. And then he would talk to me no longer, saying "Oh dear, You can NOT miss gym..."
A few months latter when I was changed schools, I had yet another meeting with this man, a teacher, and my father, and he just sat there lieing about how if I had a problem with the school, or anything at all, I should just come and talk to him, and he will do his best to fix it. You might say that this is just one bad school some place, but it was said to be the best public school in our area...
My question is how do you think that a school like that will really change, and really listen to anything that any one else says? Amalthea
Some people went through high school, others just got by. I hated high school. 9th grade was ok, but I was made fun of, because I was a little different, and was talking mostly overclassman classes. So the next year, I was who I wanted to be. I was barked at. Food was thrown at me. People would yell out freak in the hallway, with teacher standing there, and they would say nothing. The administration hated me and another who was like me. I have seen my friends given detention for frist addmenment rights. And you are trying to tell me that I should "quit being such a damn geek"? What if I was just trying to be myself. Which was not a geek, nor a nerd. What then? should I have just given in, and gotten myself a boyfriend, and watch tv? Some how that thought I could not deal with. So what happened? I left public school hell, and went away. And things got much much better. You are not offerning a solutionm, you are masking a problem to make an even bigger one.
