Heck Cattle are the result of an attempt to breed back the aurochs from modern aurochs-derived cattle. For this reason, they are also known as "Reconstructed Aurochs".[1]

The reconstructed aurochs fitted into the Nazi propaganda drive to create an idyllic history of the Aryan Nation.[3][4]

I wouldn't claim that they have been completely successful, however this is a fairly interesting historical note.

Edit: In response to complaints received, people have been receiving the following explanatory letter.

Christian Childrenâ(TM)s Fund made the decision to decline the gift from Gen Con, LLC as the request presented to us gave the appearance that CCF (the organization) was an endorser or supporter of a gaming convention, which CCF was not. As many non-profit organizations, CCF is selective in its endorsements or support in order to maintain the integrity of its name and logo. We cannot lend our name to an event for which we have no involvement. This decision should in no way be interpreted as CCF holding an opinion on Mr. Gygax, gaming enthusiasts or the game Dungeons and Dragons.

(Emphasis in bold supplied by me.) At first, I was upset because I thought they were rejecting the money because of its association with D&D. I have changed my position. I have worked with charities and in fact many of them (particularly large ones) have very specific rules about events they will sponsor. Many charities will not sponsor any event that they don't manage themselves. There are many reasons for this and very few of them will have anything to do with moral condemnation of the event organizer.

Nothing to see hear, Move along.

This would suggest to me that _somebody_ is a shitty squat blog, plagiarising for page hits.

  9. The Crux on The Mechanized Future · · Score: 1

Certainly technological advances have made life in the industrialized world generally better.
The real question we have to ask is can we really adequately handle ourselves in a world where technology continues to progress this fast?

We very nearly destroyed ourselves once already by creating a technology the ramifications of we were not ready mentally or nationally to cope with (a|h-bomb, cold war, aside: the first h-bomb was tested before scientists were able to determine if it would or would not ignite the atmosphere). When will it happen again? Will we succeed in destroying ourselves next time?

What can we do to ensure a more thorough understanding and preparedness of present and future innovations? Not for the scientists, but for the public and the politicians?

  10. Re:party problem on For Democrats, Florida Primary May Not Count · · Score: 1

The national parties do _not_ want florida to do this. the florida state parties _do_. and the state level parties want this because it is in the best interest of the state, their constituents. florida is a powerful state electorally, yet it is essentially ignored because their primary comes so late in the season.

In many ways i would agree with your sentiment, but this is not an appropriate example and the sentiment is effectively offtopic.
