  1. Mod parent up! on University of Florida Student Tasered At Political Rally · · Score: 2, Insightful

Mod parent up! Why should the cops have to wrestle with this guy? That prolongs the situation. And the long the situation is prolonged, the more likely someone (especially the person being arrested) is likely to get hurt.

  2. Re:keyword: annoying! on University of Florida Student Tasered At Political Rally · · Score: 1

I am not a policeman, but consider this. The goal of the policeman in such a situation is to end the situation as soon as possible. The longer the suspect continues to resist, the more chance someone will be injured (including the suspect). If a policeman tells you to stop struggling, or to come peacefully, you should do it.

Which brings up another question. How does one explain this disconnect between US temperatures and global temperatures? Has anyone ever double checked the global temperature records? Is it possible there could be a similar miscalculation such as that found in the NASA temperature data?

Well, I believe Jesus is the Son of God, so we disagree there. If you will read what Jesus said in the Gospels you will find it is extremely relevant to what is happening today. Jesus and the writers of the New Testament gave a description of the evil in the human race that's just as applicable now as it was then.

Actually, I'm under no illusions that carbohydrates in themselves are bad or evil. However, anything taken to excess is bad. In making the joke I was assuming that the reader would be able to discern a high degree of exaggeration in the joke. I didn't expect that anyone would seriously believe that any untainted food would be used as a bio weapon. Nor did I expect anyone to believe that General Tso's Chicken or anyone other food consumed in moderation and responsibly constitutes a worrisome risk to one's health.

I looked at a carton of General Tso's chicken at the supermarket the other day. With all the carbohydrates in it, it should probably be classified as a bio weapon.

Why don't content providers just go ahead and put all their shows up for downloading, stick all the adds they want in them, and tell people to download and copy them and give them away as much as they want? Can't they make a lot of money by advertising that way? Sure they wouldn't be able to track the results by Nielsen ratings, but the number of times the clips are downloaded should give them some measure of popularity to show advertisers and calculate advertising rates. I know an Israeli web site that I believe does something like this (for Israeli shows).
