Though, the enterprise licenses for windows versus linux should clearly verhaul the costs, but as you said, they probably get massive discounts on that. Very biased report, if you ask me, but it is possible.

  5. Re:Idiots on Chinese Hack Attacks on DoD Networks Coordinated · · Score: 1

Ever seen firefly? Perhaps it's an accurate description of the future, all cultures mixed and China + USA are the two world superpowers. Well, either way that may be far off in the future, relatively speaking. Do we not have others superpowers to keep in us in check right now? Undoubtedly USA is #1 in terms of power, but if even one superpower turned on us, would we stand a chance of recovery fast enough to remain the #1 superpower?

If Japan cut off america for electronics, China would gain so much more of the demand, and the supply would significantly decrease, even without hackers is that possibility not enough to keep America in check? I should think that every superpower has a single move that could throw out a leg of every other superpower in the world, because that's the only way they got there.

On the other side of the argument, China is well known for it's debauchery in a political sense, (uh, Tibet?). Is it so wholly unbelievable that this is in fact government influenced? Chances are with all the free information from the government given to us...spoonfed to us, we'll never find out

As for democracy, what country exhibits better democracy than America? Realistically democracy is impossible, but America probably comes the closest, aside from perhaps Sweden and a handful of other--smaller & much more manageable--countries. And as for the last statement, the US has been screwing the world for years? I'm not sure I even need to rectify that, but when all is said and done, have we done ill, or well? Everyone makes mistakes, the US makes mistakes on a grandeur scale, but what about the economy, the stock market, what about all the good that's come out of America?

It's easy to criticize, but much more difficult to really appreciate some of the small mistakes in the grand scheme of things.

Jacking up prices by friends on ebay to increase profits is almost regular practice with anyone that sells more than three items a year. Fraud? not really though. In the most technical of terms, it is fraud if someone knowingly is bidding for any purpose other than to buy the item, but the only fraud that gets looked into is the kind that hurts the public consumer. This kind of fraud does NOT! Every buyer has a "willingness-to-pay" for any item. Suppose I want to buy a laser pointer for presentations, and I find that I'm willing to pay $35 for it. I can search online and find one for $15, so my economic profit is $20, but if I couldn't find one for any less than exactly $35, then there's no problem because that's what it's worth to me anyways. In ebay you will never be charged more than you choose to, so your economic profit should theoretically never drop below zero, as long as you make the correct decisions. I don't see how this is such an issue if nobody is particularly getting hurt...Economically speaking, this is flourishing because you are minimizing deadweight loss by matching willingness to pay with maximizing profit.

  9. This is no war, this is a skirmish on Adult Film Industry Moving To HD DVD · · Score: 1

The real answer to why this may be is the following. HD-DVDs are cheaper to produce, and aside from a select few companies and organizations, most pornographers work out of very little liquidated flow, can't afford to muster up for blu ray when they're still unstable. But this is besides the point: the fact remains, the first combination reading player has been introduced by LG. It's only a matter of time before single-format players become obseleted, and deleted from society's memory. There's no real Betamax Vs. VHS war going on here, though it looks like it from afar. Warner brothers is already working on a disc that's going to be able to have either data type written to it, and this, in combination with combo players will make HD vs. Blu ray like VCDs vs DVDs. they'll both have different purposes, slight differences, but in todays date, most players will play both of them

But if...a dog, somehow someway contracted a common cold, and was completely unprepared to accept the virus and combat it, the dog would die without much of a fight. Monkeys live with AIDS like it's nothing, but it destroys us. The Avian flu is a bird disease, and when cross-genus diseases spread, there's (as far as we know) no way to stop almost certain death.
