  1. Re:(Offtopic) on Consumer Vista Upgrades Moving at Snail's Pace · · Score: 1

Okay, maybe I don't feel so bad about the sound card, (I want an m-audio card that I can plug various components in like midi anyways. I'm a musician too.) However for the video card, I was still left to choose between integrated video or the NVIDIA GeForce 7400. A few months ago when they gave one the option to have XP installed on the laptop, the list of video cards to choose from wasn't this pitiful. *Sigh* It's just a headache to know my choices are limited to parts only compatible with an OS that I won't even use on the laptop!

  2. Bought a laptop... on Consumer Vista Upgrades Moving at Snail's Pace · · Score: 1

I just bought a laptop from Dell last night. I WISH they offered XP, because they only had Vista as an operating system choice. I would have rather taken no operating system and installed my own. Me, like many customers who refuse to upgrade, find their hardware incompatible with Vista (Dell no longer offered the integrated Audigy card I wanted and I was forced to settle with generic integrated sound because of compatibility issues with the audigy's drivers.)

  3. Still not satisfied. on A First Look At Gaim 2.0 · · Score: 1

Okay, so I see that there were no voice features implemented into the various protocols, at least not yet. Are the Gaim developers ever planning to make other features work that they already tried to implement? (like Direct Connections on AIM for sending files in the window.) And though the file transfer on AIM seems to be working better than it used to, it still can't resume files that were being sent to others, (very annoying when trying to send large files and get a disconnection.)

Microevolution takes place because of sections of DNA _which already exist_ being randomly "mixed" together. That's an obvious scientific fact. The evidence is apparent when you look at a wolf then look at a chihuahua. The argument isn't about scientific facts which everyone of every belief can agree on. None of us are going out on a limb until we start stating theories like macroevolution to be fact.

I would like to see DNA strings being generated/created. There is not one example in expiriments or in history of this being done. If you noticed, DNA loses information and changes because of this, but how can you create new groups of organisms from chopped-off chunks of data?

  6. We really did make a difference. on Snakes on The Net Fail to Put Butts in the Seats · · Score: 1

Me and several of my friends went to see the movie. We would have never went to see if it wasn't for sites like YTMND that struck curiosity into us. I think with the terrible premise behind this movie, that the movie wouldn't have come even close to number 1 in the box office if it wasn't for us. Its not that we, the fans of the hype, didn't make a big difference, its that we saved the movie from being a horrible failure and made into only a semi-failure.
