  1. Re:Buzzword Compliance Factor on Linux Port for N64? · · Score: 2

I think that he was just trying to get this port going. With a PC-N64 interface readily available, the port would go much smoother (especially if he could get HD access going.) He also had other parts of the project going - an emulator and he commented on the feasability of getting a keyboard working.

Rome wasn't built in a day. A Linux port to N64 would take a lot of effort.

Anybody here work for one of the ad companies and know if the banners collect cookies?

  3. Nothing's going to happen. on Microsoft Adresses World · · Score: 1

Imagine all the appears Microsoft is going to make in case of ANY ruling against them. This isn't anything official - it's more like a hint as to where the judge is leaning.

Just think of how many years people sentenced to death stay alive thanks to appeals and followups to those. And we're talking Microsoft here - if old Billy boy earns more money than Peru, imagine how much his lawyers make! :\

  4. Re:Yeah But it's Tom so it's biased on Coppermine vs. Athlon · · Score: 1

    OMG, don't talk man.

Intel HATES him. He released a Pentium II preview with a pre-production P2 which *sucked* it up bigtime. He's probably the most overtly anti-Intel man out. Why do you think he made a reference to a "fishy article" (pun at Sharky - who is biased towards Intel.)

  5. It's all cache. on Coppermine vs. Athlon · · Score: 1

I mean, the Athlon is a really cache dependent CPU. As everyone saw in the 3DSMAX benchmark, the FPU is fine, but when even a little bit of cache is necessary (see: Q3Test, Descent3), the Athlon starts lagging compared to the CuMine, especially at higher clock speeds where cache becomes a bigger factor.
I can't wait to see an Athlon Ultra. ^^

  6. It's a tad expensive... and on Global Population Implosion? · · Score: 1

for some reason, I'm having trouble finding a woman who likes my glasses, monitor tan, solar allergies and umbelical keyboard. ^^ OK. No, seriously, it's just too expensive. 40 years ago, people could live well off one man's income and have 4 kids. Now we need 2 incomes just to live decently...
