  1. Re:Don't include GPL'd code ... on The Future of Closed Source Software and Linux · · Score: 1

You really think Nero or VMware are free or open source?

  2. Re:What software developers have told me on The Future of Closed Source Software and Linux · · Score: 1

What planet are you from? Who exactly says this? I have heard no one say this. Linux coders do not require open source. That's BS.

  3. Excitement = Bad on The Future of Closed Source Software and Linux · · Score: 2, Insightful

If you're excited, it's probably because it barely works. We don't need more of that type of software on any OS.

  4. Nice arguments but... on MPAA v. Hogan, or Vice Versa? · · Score: 0, Troll

We all know who's really going to win: whoever has better connections. In this case, it's obvious that the MPAA will prevail.

And this is why you Linux-haters deserve no respect. You refer to us using every narrow-minded insult you can think of, and yet you expect us to come around to your point of view. These personal attacks and deliberate lies make you a troll, not "Insightful" in any way.

I see bigotry is in fashion as well. How am I supposed to take your comment seriously when you start off with a troll of biblical proportions?

  7. Re:Headline is a Troll on McAfee Blames Open Source for Botnets · · Score: 1

The article states that botnet authors are *learning* from open source techniques. It seems to imply that they are blaming open source, though the article does state later on that they are actually not seeking to discredit open source.

Therefore, the headline is inaccurate, but I doubt that it was deliberate (and therefore, not really a troll).

  9. Re:How useful would VMWare be? on PowerPoint 0-Day Points to Corporate Espionage · · Score: 1

If you are exploited on a VM, I doubt it's altogether different from being exploited on a host. The only real positive thing is at least you don't have to worry about the host being exploited. The real question is how much valuable data are you leaving in the VM?

  10. Re:The problem: archives on Ubuntu Open to Aiding Derivative Distributions · · Score: 1

Okay, suppose you do update every week. You can make the original source available along with weekly patches (the "diff" files). I don't see what the big deal is in doing that.

  11. Overreacting a bit? on Debian Locks Out Developers · · Score: 3, Insightful

"Due to the short window between exploiting the kernel and Debian admins noticing, the attacker hadn't time/inclination to cause much damage," wrote Schulze.

"The only obviously compromised binary was /bin/ping. The compromised account did not have access to any of the restricted Debian hosts. Hence, neither the regular nor the security archive had a chance to be compromised."

It seems like nothing much really happened. I mean, if this is all a hacker is capable of even with root access to a major Debian server, then what's all the fuss about?

"True faith in something is literally delusional"? Have you actually studied philosophy? For you to make this claim proves that you have obviously never studied, so this was a rhetorical question. The only way "evidence" contributes to your confidence in reality is because of your own faith, you hypocrite.
