    I check up on window maker once or twice a year. There was actually recent activity on the mailing lists the last I checked. Not a lot of traffic, but a lot more than there had been.

    My aunt got an iPhone at launch and i guarantee it is still sitting in the box. I know it is hard to believe, but there are people that buy expensive toys and never play with them.

    The ironic thing is that I remember a WOZ interview a long time ago where he mentions not being able to hold whole designs in his head after he hit a certain age. Not sure how old it was. Maybe 40-45. I hope someone else comes up with a link for it.

    This claims that it is blank plague survivors. Somewhere else, I read that it was small pox survivors. Whichever it is, some people with a certain mutation are pretty much immune to aids.

    Scrolling in firefox was painfully slow on my system. If i happened to go to a page that used a Japanese or Chinese font, it would grind my system to a halt. Disabling PANGO really helped. Start firefox with a script that does something like:

    #!/bin/sh
    export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1
    /usr/bin/iceweasel

  7. i used the alps glidepoint keyboard on Input Solutions for Repetitive Stress Victims? · · Score: 1
    I suggest the alps glidepoint keyboard. It has a laptop style touchpad below the arrow keys. This worked out pretty good for me because I would touch the touchpad with my fingure tips, but all of the movement was really happening in my elbow/upper arm instead of the wrist/hand. The only bad thing about the alps glidepoint keyboard is that it was mostly sold in the late 90s, and will be pretty hard for you to find.

    Also, don't forget that you can have several mice hooked up at once. In addition to the touchpad, I had a left mouse, a right handed mouse, and one of those stupid 3M mice all hooked up at once. I would just reach for whichever one caused the least amount of pain at the time.

    End the end though, no gadget will fix the problem. When someone is in that situation, they seriously need to just spend some time away from the computer. You might not think you can afford to take a month off of work now, but the longer you put it off, the longer it will take to heal up. Eventually, if your wrists/hands take enough punishment, they might not ever heal.
