I think your calculations are off by a factor of ~ 24.
Assuming a 4 week month, and 168 hours per week, the monthly power lost is 45*168*4 = 30240 W-hr = 30.2kW-hr. At 6.2 cents per kW-hr, that is over $1.80 per month. Over 5 years, that puts you at over $100 total.

AMD has not made flash memory for many years. They put their flash assets into Spansion and spun that out (before they purchased ATI, IIRC).

AMD has no flash anymore -- they spun out the Spansion joint venture last year. AMD is entirely a CPU company now.
