I was going to suggest the system used in total recall, but this is close enough!

I have been watching the feed for about 5 min, and I notice that there are a lot of searches for "food" (the artice mentions this). I wonder why. Recipes? or just very hungry people with internet access looking for a way to get some grub? any other ideas?

  3. Simple Method on Version Control for Documentation? · · Score: 1

I work for a automobile insurance company, and this was a problem when I first started working here.

All I had them do was, on every scrap of work they create electronically, put a form ID on it, and use it in the file name itself. The method we use is:

    XXXXXXXX-010511

    Unique ID and then date.

    Why doesn't this work?

    I like the fact that:

"...next even day will be 2-2-2000 - the first one since 28-8-888."

We will have to PARTY on 2/2/00.. I mean, sheesh.. 1112 years have passed. let us celebrate the dawning of a new age.

Thumb on alt, ring on ctrl, and pinky on del? Seems a bit uncomfortable. Why not thumb, fore, then ring (respectively)?

  7. Why Break Up? on Congressman Advocates Breaking-Up a Guilty MS · · Score: 1

How about if we get MS to release and support current/future versions of office for linux and other operating systems? They could still sell it as commercial software at the same cost as the windows version. A HUGE step for linux getting it on the office desktop. Look at WinNT. All it needed was office and good network stability to become a standard in the business environment. It would be a lot easier then breaking the company up. The only problem I see is, who would port and develop it? -Marc
