That is only the energy aspect of the problem. I don't care much about that. Warp drives or wormholes might be a fine solution to that. If they exist. I think the causality problem is much worse, because it cannot be circumvented by any technical means.
Don't give people too much hope. Those are not really workarounds. A workaround is IMHO something you can do. But this is only a list how the universe had to be so that ftl travel is possible. If it is not... tough luck.
*apparent* FTL is *not* excluded by general relativity.
No kind of ftl is excluded by anything. Be it general or special relativity. You just have to explain how to handle or prevent the paradoxes if you travel ftl.
*sigh* I know, it is hard to understand. But even if you use the warp drive you travel faster than light. The problems with time travel and the resulting paradoxes are not triggered by any kind of movement. Being at point A and suddenly being at point B in shorter time than a beam of light could go from A to B in vacuum is all that is needed.
For timetravel according to special relativity it does not matter. If you reach a point B from a point A faster than a beam of light could do it in vacuum, you travel ftl.
...while never actually accelerating past the speed of light doing it...
Does not matter. Special relativity does not make provisions how you travel. If you travel from point A in space to point B in space, be it by warp drive, be it by wormhole, be it by magic, faster than a beam of light could do it in vacuum, you travel ftl. And this means timetravel.
Microsoft needs to buy Nokia for this very purpose.
Question is: Can Microsoft buy Nokia? With ex-Microsoft Elop as CEO Nokia's slow decline turned into a rapid downfall in surprisingly short time. When now Microsoft buys Nokia one might ask some very inconvenient questions.
If anything, it allows more software to be portable to Windows,
...and to Linux, and to OSX, Android. Microsoft is slowly losing its almost total control over the desktop. And if software is easily ported to practically all relevant platforms this process speeds up. Why would someone pay for Windows when he can get all programs for all platforms? Even worse, as soon as Qt for Android is 100% complete, why should developers develop solely for Windows phones when they can make profit from Android and maybe iOS as well? Microsoft has absolutely nothing to win from Qt, but plenty to lose.
Maybe I am paranoid, but I would not be too surprised when Qt was the main reason for Microsoft to f**k Nokia as hard as they did.
After a lot of theorizing, posturing, and non-human trials, it looks like bionic eye implants are finally hitting the market â" first in Europe, and hopefully soon in the U.S.

Three times 'I think'. Gutfeeling physics?
Here you find a better explanation in the links:

I'd say you take a few more physics classes.

If you say so. Thanks for enlightening me, Mr. Einstein.

c is in vacuum always c. Regardless of your movement.

...brought out new hardware. But now, since they sold Qt, I could not care less.
But of course, I hate the USA.
...translation: I am an idiot. M$ never had 'partners'.

And to sabotage Qt, which is too anti vendor lock-in.
...why I should care for American copyright laws? Ahh, forget it. I would ignore them anyways.
Europeans shall play guinea pig for Americans.
It does. I am extremely hostile to women. With the same right some of them claim all men are rapists, I take the right to say all women are braindead.
Parasite sex. They don't want to do anything. You have to do it for them.
Too stupid for hard facts or actual work, but always 'we need more flowers here and there'.
"Microsoft has a long and storied history of leadership in the tech industry, and the company has driven innovation for decades.
Don't worry, I am sure they are already working on a solution to lock old clients out.
No problem. I am not concerned with the rights of Americans, e.g. I feel free to ignore their copyrights.
Are you crazy? He might never be allowed to board a plane anymore.
