I can agree to that on personal experience. They tried cutting off internet at my residential high school after 2am. Kids went as far as unplugging/reseting routers to get a connection. Eventually some one just hacked an admin password to get pass web[non]sense. Unless they manually cut off power/connection to the routers, there's little hope. If the school has to go as far as restricting internet access because its a negative influence they probably have far bigger problems. Besides, some people may operate better int the 2am-8am range...

I aggree with what you say. The problem lies mostly in the inflexibility of some degree programs. you can't just pick the courses you want to get that fancy hat and expensive piece of paper, some prereqs are really trivial and there isn't much you can do but show up for then on exam days. quite frankly, if youre depending on school to get you all the mathematical expertise you may need but probably wont use then you will end up very old and very broke. school should only teach you enough math to teach yourself, thats the way i see it.

A large number of "US Patents" are actually from foreigners. You don't have to be an American citizen to get a "US Patent." As far as international issues goes several countries have IP Treaties that protect pattents internationally. The US patent(ing) system is very impresive compared to most, because it makes it easy for anyone (from anywhere) to send in their idea(s). Patents you don't notice are military and national security pattent submited to the PTO.

Somewhere I read Go was a more challenging setting for AI... Anyways, in the end the bot will only be as smart as the programmer(s) and whatever weakness a programmer has in his game/logic an elite player will be able to abuse that weakness in the bot. Lets not forget, poker also involves a great deal of acting. If you can determine how a bot analyzes its opponents, you can feed it bad information then wait for the full house (on the low pocket pair) against the ace high flush...I'm all in!
