Another example would be Max Payne where at some point you take the elevator where the classic annoying elevator music is played. You shoot the speaker (because you can in a game) and Max Payne goes "Thank you.".

First time I played that I nearly fell off the chair laughing :)

Uhm, of course Max takes the elevator and shoots, you just make him... or whatever.

  5. self-regulation? on UN Wants to Combat Online Racism · · Score: 1

i consider the internet as a mirror of the real world. in it you'll probably find every social and cultural aspect there is in the so-called 'civilized' society. and unfortunatly that seems to include racism, hatred, aggression and many other really ugly things.

so imo the ways to get people living together in peace and harmony in the internet should be the same as in the real world. the downside to this is that this has been attempted for a few thousand years now, and nothing really worked.

at this point, where the internet is relativly new (at least for most of the authorities), we the users have the power and responsibility to bring self-regulation in our communities (online or irl). this seems to work in most of the technical aspects of the net, doesn't it?

so if anybody wants to hear my advise... if you want to fight prejudices, start with yourself. you don't have to love everybody, but we need to respect each other. it's as simple as that.
