I found that this blog was kind of interesting in the sense that it clears up a bunch of things that people are worried about.
However, I think that at the same time, there are a lot of people going 'where the heck is the PROOF of the patients!?'
I'd like to have SM give some of the patients that they claim are being infringed upon and then I might be willing to loosen up on the whole idea. At the same time however, I think that there is something that people have to realize, and that is, like it or not, there is going to be some changes in Novell, and I know that people are going to think that that would then mean that they are in Microsoft's pocket, there is nothing that can really support that as of now.
I am going to take this whole thing with an open mind and at the same time, a dash of skepticism and a hint of hope that it is going to be different than before with other companies.
it seems that the original forums post, found here http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=9 31048
stipulates that you use the nvidia driver aka 'nvidia' in correlation to gedit. This will crash X.
HOWEVER
if you were to use the driver 'nvidia' with Kate, this would not crash it.
nvidia driver flaw? yes, noting the use of gtk in addition
First off, I think that it is awesome that he released a fairly nondescript step-by-step of what you have to do to exploit the wireless drivers. It is something that now you can go out and try and go 'hey this DOES work' or 'hey this DOESN'T work'. Once you manage to establish that, then you can be bitter and cynical and every other word that you can think of in a negative sense.
As for the Mac zealots out there, they make me laugh sometimes. They are always like 'oh, Mac is better than PC' blah blah blah, same shit different day. The fact if the matter is is that sooner or later, you are going to have to deal with the fact that nothing is perfect. Especially in the tech industry. That being the case, I don't think that you should be saying 'oh, the Mac is better than the PC, look at the statistics'. Fact of the matter being is that you make up 15% of the entire Computer User Base. Just think about that for a second then the the math. That is 85% of people that are using PCs. If I were to write something for a system, I'd be more likely to write it for a PC only because it's user-base is almost 5x larger.
And that is my two cents.
I think that something like a HUGE NAS system would be nice.
It would then be possible to store and organize data via customer and/or software type.
From there, you could store all the ISOs, loopback mount them as needed and retrieve data.
This however, doesn't solve the issue of oodles of CDs and DVDs.

I say just out of pure irony, we rename Oregon to something having to do with Colbert
it is called 'KillerNIC' because the people who buy it will KILL themselves after they find out it isn't worth shit in a bag.
this is what happens when the moon gets a bulge :/
