  1. Prevention is and always will be the best medicine on Researchers Find Off Protein For Immune System · · Score: 1

    This may be news to you, but many of these diseases have already been cured. The cure is prevention.

    A non-smoker, non-druggie, non-drinker on a low-fat, high-fiber properly planned vegan diet who has moderate excercise has practically given himself immunity to most degenerative diseases. Nearly all of the diseases that plague our elederly are attributed to poor diet and lack of excercise and a bad lifestyle. You would be very surprised to find out how much less heredity has to do with disease.

    Don't wait for a magic pill. Take action to prevent it with the most genius machine ever created-your own body. You alone have the power to prevent disease. Don't commit yourself to a slow suicide.

    Make the cause now and live to see all the many days ahead.

    Tell me, is it also illegal to write the URL of a place that has DeCSS on paper? Or print it on a T-Shirt? Or write it in stone? Or dirt? Does that classify as a link? How about if I speak the URL to a page containing DeCSS? Is that legal? How about if I got a tattoo of an URL containing DeCSS on my forehead? Would the MPAA have legal grounds to have me remove it? I don't know. IANAL. Perhaps it isn't illegal to leave out the A tag and just put the URL in plain text? Is it really illegal for me to type these characters:

    h t t p : / / w i l d s u r g e . a 2 0 0 0 . nu / d e c s s /

    or these

    h t t p : / / h o m e . e a r t h l i n k . n e t / ~ t i l l e y r w / d e c s s - c o d e . h t m l

    Ah fuck it, perhaps you should just click here.

  4. C99 and C++ on Ask Bjarne Stroustrup, Inventor of C++ · · Score: 1

    Hi Mr. Stroustrup, let me start by saying you are my CS idol, more so than any other CS person I know of. Ok, second, I've read some of your posts on comp.std.c++ about C99 but I'm still not clear, so I'll ask. What do you see as C99's future? Do you see it as a viable alternative to C++? Do you foresee C99 being integrated into the C++ standard in two years to retain compatibility with C? Do you think C++ should now start splitting away from its C heritage? Also on a completely unrelated subject, what kind of changes (if any) _are_ being planned for the new C++ standard in two years? I look foward to reading your opinions/input. Thank you for your time!

    Hi, I wanted to start by saying I consider you to be a god, secondly, I just bought C++PL SE at B&N. It is very well done. Now I just have to do decide what to do with the third edition. Ok, now, What are your feelings about C99? I've seen some replies to this extent from you on comp.std.c++ but nothing that truly addresses it. Do you see it being integrated into the C++ standard in 2 years when it can be updated? Do you think it would fit in elegantly? Do you think C99 is now a viable alternative to C++? I personally never use C89, but there are features in C99 that do seem attractive. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
