If you're stupid enough to play atari while driving. You deserve to get into an accident. You also deserve to have your insurance pay for whatever damage to who's ever car you hit, and do have your rates go sky high for being an idiot.
Cell phones arn't the problem people.. the people that drive while doing stupid shit like playing with their cell phone will find some other distraction to get them into an accident.
What he is saying is that the GPL gets tossed around as THE "free" open-source license. But there are other choices.. One of them (the BSD) is actually more "free" because you can use parts of it in a commercial product and not HAVE to release the new code to the public. And that is true, the BSD license does give you more freedom, and with more freedom, you have more of a responsibility, part of that being to give back to the community that you borrowed from. But the BSD gives you the freedom to make that choice on your own, the GPL does not, it forces you to conform.
"When Turner signed Acme's rental agreement last October, he didn't notice the warning at the top of the contract that read: "Vehicles in excess of posted speed limit will be charged $150 fee per occurrence. All our vehicles are GPS equipped." "
He should have known about this before hand. He didn't read his contract. It's his own damn fault.
It is an older one (first Alpine nav unit) but it happens when I go under a bridge and the gyros take over for a bit. Or if I'm somehwere that the sats can't reach.
It doesn't happen often, perhaps once every few months or so, but when it does I can go a mile or two in just a second, and in that case would I be speeding?
I have a GPS in one of my cars.. And sometimes when it gets a new sat or something strange happens I might "jump" on the map as to where my location is.. That would totally screw up the stats.. Or one would think.
This is stupid. I've been looking up stuff on the net after hearing on a radio show that out of the top 10 accident causing distractions that cell phones are #9. Ranked BELOW messing with the radio, eating, and smoking.
Germany is either already, or going to ban smoking while driving. And until they ban eating, drinking (non-alcholic beverages), listening to the radio, and other such distractions. They should leave cell phones alone.
Some studies have even pointed out that after you hang up the phone and think about your recent conversation is more likely to cause an accident then when you were on the phone. Are we going to ban thinking while driving now too?? Oh yeah, no more talking to your passengers as well.
You can get any color that the maker offers for any of their brands.. As long as you special order it, and will probably cost extra (but not a whole lot more)
For example, if you buy an Audi you can get it in any Audi/VW/Porshe color.
If you pushed hard enough I bet you could get a Golf GTI in the Beetle's Reflex color.
Your GPS doesn't altitude from pressure. The reason your altitude was wrong was that you didn't have a good 3D sat. fix.
The eTrex Summit I had does to it by pressure, It said it was accurate up to 13ft, and it showed 4 sats connected (max on that screen, I probably had more). If you go into the diag screen it actually shows you the pressure. It was saying I was at 5k feet.
However, you were in violation of airline regs using a GPS receiver on an aircraft (unless you had permission from the captain). You just didn't get caught.
I didn't have permission, and they did see it. They didn't have a problem with me using it (flight attendents). They never did ask the captian.
First off, at least 50% of any flight I've been on somebody has been using some kind of electronic device. Be it a CD player, laptop, game boy or whatever. Plus some planes even have radios for you to listen to (through the arm rest). The airlines use microwaves and that's going to cause much more of a problem then some wireless lan cards. Also, a lot of flights have phones that you can use on the plane, that's not much different.
Now, about the crew and pilot.. They offer alchol on plane, and the pilots arn't off getting drunk. What's to make you think they're gonna be surfing pr0n or IMing their friends.
While I agree with you on snooping on you at the work place. I don't agree with you about drug testing..
What I do on my own time is my business.. Of course, if I show up at work high or whatever, that's another thing. But as long as my performance is fine then they shouldn't be messing around with my personal life.
There's way to many hardware devicese out there now for it to die out anytime soon.. Portable systems, car systems (like the Aiwa MP3 CD player in my jeep).. Hell, there's even a car now.. the Mazda MP3.
Cable companies are granted permission to offer service from the local government. They set up special meetings to go over issues.. These include how long to have a contract with the cable company, and by what terms they are allowed to just cut them off without getting sued. They also discuss letting a second or third cable provider into the town. So it's because of YOUR local town/city that you only have one choice.
Besides that you could always go with a dish or just stick with your antenna.

MP3Pro files will work on all old MP3 players, just that the quality won't be as good as MP3Pro.

All this hype about it is bogus, and now they're spraying all kinds of chemicals that are more deadly then the freakin' virus.

Now, when you start leveling land and killing off animals, that's stupid. But when it's natural selection or whatever, just let it go!

I wouldn't count on the altitude being correct, the presurized cabin screws it up.
