I agree with the Anonymous Coward...especially since the supposed agreement reached recently between the FTC and Facebook explicitly forbids them from doing this without user consent. I mean, it hasn't even been 3 months and Facebook is clearly thinking they can stil do business as usual without any repercussions. On a side note...Has anyone ever tried to figure out exactly how many of said 1 billion accounts are actual live people who use Facebook, versus automated bots that use Facebook for nefarious purposes. I mean to Facebook it makes no difference, an account is an account and they count it as so. Furthermore, how many live persons actively using Facebook actually use confirmed true information?

Right, but what if mapping, advertising, email, online video, online document editing, mobile operating systems, etc *IS* your business. There has been no solid proof that Google has engaged in any anti-competitive behavior. Just because company's are scared to try or don't have the idea for the next best thing that could compete with Google, does not make Google the bad guy. I would be willing to bet that both senators (one of which is not seeking re-election next year) have something to gain by this move...including, but not limited to, lobbying them so that this baseless claim of monopolizing will generate enough negative press that the FTC will have to do something.

Thank-you...seriously. I just needed someone to write it out for me. I get so bent out of shape whenever I think about the state of the nation I call home that I can barely manage a few words before bursting into a rage. I do have to comment about Foxnews once more though...they do have the highest rated show on television, but that is only because they have one unique demographic that no other news based show has --- there is an entire group of people that watch Foxnews purely for the comedy. That is one demographic Foxnews will never admit they have.

No...I'm sorry, but I must disagree. The pure and open blockage of everything Obama tried to do early on, and, among other things, the temper-tantrum outbursts during 2 consecutive State of the Union speeches made my original comment truth in my opinion. Like I said, Clinton basically imposed many of the same tactics for his presidential promises and did not get near the backlash from the GOP that Obama is still getting. By the way, I am a white American and do fully support Obama's efforts to overcome these blockades from the GOP that are -- whether you want to admit it or not -- absolutely racist. Unfortunately, there just are to many idiots in this country and so this probably will be his only chance.

Sure we geeks think its a cluttered mess, but they love it. Also Yahoo Mail last I checked had the highest numbers of in use accounts of ANY other Webmail including Gmail.

You and all of those common folk live in a dream world. I promise you that a very large number of those user accounts on Yahoo mail are hacked accounts or bots. Yahoo mail is the epitome of a hacker haven where spam comes to breed. Its just like saying Facebook actually has 1 billion active users...when people regurgitate things they read or see on TV it truly does make me laugh out loud. Yahoo does not have enough quality employees left on staff to worry about security the way they should and simply having a really long password isn't enough when their infrastructure is about as wide open as an account with no password at all. One day people will wake up and stop believing everything they read/see/hear without at least doing some fact finding to make sure they understand the difference between an opinion and a fact.

With Jail Broken phones, you are still limited to what you can and cannot do on your phone, it really only allows you to install stuff not approved by Apple.
