I think it was unnecessary, but wouldn't call it screwing up. They could have asked Judge Judy to take it for all the difference it makes to them in the UK.

Last time I checked, the US Federal court has no jurisdiction over the UK either.

Why should Spamhaus even dignify these proceedings with a response, though? Illinois courts have no right to tell a UK based entity how to operate. Even if somehow the domain name spamhaus.org does get compromised, Spamhaus can register a domain name out of the UK and carry on as before. I'll be ready to change my mail server to the new URL and continue blocking parasites like e360insight from filling my servers with unwanted crap.

You say too many ISPs "...were relying on [Spamhaus] blindly to reject email..." in which case it's the ISPs who are at fault for using the wrong type of tool for the job. Spamhaus is a totally optional service, and it can prove very useful in the right circumstances. I have been using Spamhaus for over a year on our corporate mail servers, and I have had no problems with false positives.

Regardless of whether this ruling is enforceable in the UK (which it isn't), the fact remains that e360insight.com IS sending out thousands of emails that most people don't want. Doesn't matter what they are selling - cheap Viagra or a legitimate product - I don't want their advertisements in my users inboxes. That's exactly why I use Spamhaus to keep people like E360insight from littering my mailserver with their unwanted offers and advertisements.

  7. Where did these "myths" come from? on Ten Gaming Myths Debunked · · Score: 2, Insightful

Apart from the PS3 "myth", they all seem made up. I mean, who says console games are too simple? Who says PC games are doomed? Who says you need a $500 video card? Nobody I know. It's all just a bunch of waffle. Oh, and the PS3 is going to fail. Too expensive, and no way are the developers going to be releasing games as quickly as they will on the 360. Sony has focused too much on complicated hardware and left the developers out to dry.
