  1. Re:Silly Iranians... ALWAYS! on Iran Caps Net Access to Keep West Out · · Score: 0, Redundant

this is a parody of a quote by Pastor Martin Niemöller http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Niemoeller here is the translated version of his orginal poem. When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I did not speak out; I was not a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

  4. Re:How soon before Tor incorporated into FS nets? on International Music Industry Amps Up Anti-P2P War · · Score: 3, Insightful

the major problem is that tor eats up lots of bandwidth people generally dont want to switch bandwidth with safety until there is an actual threat the amount of people the RIAA etc have subpeoned etc is laughable compared to the number of people using these services the chances of being caught are very remote however i think at least end to end encryption is in order so the ISP cant spy on you

  5. End of mainstream Windows on Microsoft Piracy Plan Means Concerns for IT · · Score: 1

This *MAY* result in the end of mainstream use of windows as a desktop (and probably any existing servers) simply because that if some people who previously owned xp but couldn't afford vista with aero, go and get one of the linux desktops (with or without a cool gui like xgl) then MS could have a problem on their hands hopefully, this could potentially make vista a flop. I mena what do the affordable versions of vista have that xp doesnt at the moment? - not aero - not winfs all they have is a locked down kernal so you cant stick AV and have MS "protecting you" sounds like you would be phoning MS a lot And how are they going to manage corporate lisences?
