One interesting search
Compare a google search for "Chinese Human Rights Violations" to the Accoona one.
For the lazy:
Google
Accoona
Granted, the Accoona one has relavent results... but I would say at the very least, google's results are more appropriate to my search -- at worst one would suggest that "Using the search engine from inside the US doesn't show any noticeable amount of censorship" may in fact be false (although I'm not prepared to say that Accoona is censored).
Just one interesting search... -
Another comparison: TibetIt's funny to see that a generic query on "tibet" instead of the very specific "free tibet" yields differents results.
Accoona shows a lot of tourist-related information on Tibet and pro-Chinese links on Tibet, that considers Tibet as any another region inside China.
Google, in the other hand, shows a lot of pages related to the movement to free Tibet from Chinese domination. Note the link to the Tibetan Government in Exile's website, which ranked #3 in Google. Also, note that the #3 match in Accoona (under "sponsored links"), shows the Chinese government's page on Tibet.
Isn't this undeniable proof that Accoona's filtering works?

It failsMiserable Failure
Doesn't show President Bush's Website, Michael Moore Website or Jimmy Carters Website. Come on now, what type of search engine doesn't allow you to spam the results.

Can't find 'google' on Accoonahttp://www.accoona.com/search?col=mc&qt=google
Does anyone else find it weird that searching up 'google' comes up with nothing useful on Accoona? Given that Google is one of the most popular sites on the web and it's chief competitor, I find this very suspicious. Either the engine is completely useless or we're definitely seeing censorship at work. The Chinese would have to be idiots to think this is a "real" search engine.
