Re:Fake story
Nowhere does it state that CFC-11 is a greenhouse gas, and no attempt to imply it is made either. It is just referred to as "mysterious toxic plumes"--utter sensationalist rubbish.
And why don't you learn to do a little research?
How about the Newsweek article referring as it to be something that depletes the ozone?
And TOXIC GAS? It's just a CFC. Did anyone even bother looking up the MSDS? Inert.
The fake editors here no NOTHING about anything, and they are wrong about everything. They were installed to push the agenda of the new BizX Arab overlords. -
Re:The market corrects
Here's an MSDS. This one says nothing about ecological impact. But I suppose it would form longer-lived organosilicates.

Re:Toxicity?
The Anhydrous Ammonia SDS just says "Get medical attention immediately" over and over, then "Causes serious eye damage. Liquid can cause burns similar to frostbite." over and over a few times, then throws in a few "Causes severe burns. "; so I guess it's pretty toxic. I didn't see a CA prop 25 warning so I guess it just fucking kills before it causes reproductive harm or cancer, but I didn't look real good.

Re:Find a technical solution, not a legal "solutio
I have a welding helmet with a LCD shutter, as soon as the the photo-voltaic cell detects a bright light, the lcd goes black; cost less that $50.00 at Harbor Freight; lots of people like pilots spend more than that on sunglasses. Sure you couldn't go completely off the shelf with it, the helmet is about shade 3 even when off, which is pretty dark at night, and I'm not sure what would happen trying to look at an LCD display in a cockpit while wearing LCD's on your eyes, but it's very plausible.

Bullshit:
Synonym : Nitrogen oxide (N2O); Dinitrogen monoxide; Dinitrogen oxide; Laughing gas; N2O;
Factitious air; Hyponitrous acid anhydride; Nitrogen oxide; UN 1070; UN 2201;
Nitrogen Monoxide; Nitral; Diazyne 1-oxide; NITROUS OXIDE, REFRIGERATED
Physical state Gas. [COLORLESS LIQUEFIED COMPRESSED GAS. ODORLESS OR WITH A MILD
SWEET ODOR. [INHALATION ANESTHETIC] [NOTE: SHIPPED AS A LIQUIFIED
COMPRESSED GAS]]
DANGER!
Section 3. Composition, Information on Ingredients
Name Nitrous Oxide CAS 10024-97-2
% Volume 100 Exposure limits ACGIH TLV (United States, 1/2008).
TWA: 90 mg/m 8 hour(s).
TWA: 50 ppm 8 hour(s).
NITROUS OXIDEan O2 cylinder is full at 2000 PSI a Nitrous cylindr is full at 850PSI, mixing the two in the cylinder is going to give a highly variable mixture; and there is no "perfectly safe, minimalist setup "; a sedation unit used in Dentistry is going to run you $2500.00 - $3,000.00 with scavenging unit and that doesn't count the wall mount manifold with the fail-safe valve that cuts off the nitrous flow when there is no O2 pressure. Your misinformation is just wishful thinking on the part of high-ons trying to convince themselves that huffing Nitrous isn't potentially deadly.

Re:Deuterium?
Just order it from any gas supplier. They deliver. It's not radioactive.

hydrogen
Nearly every major city already has a source for getting hydrogen. Liquid or gas. And they deliver.
http://airgas.com/
Also, you can currently buy 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 psi hydrogen tanks. Now all we need is a low cost or at least reasonably priced hydrogen fuel cell and then we could convert our own cars over to hydrogen electric. All I need is either a low cost platinum based hydrogen fuel cell or a non platinum based fuel cell. How many years have they been working on these for now? Maybe if all that Iraq war money would have been spent on fuel cell development instead...
