This is extra text because Slashdot is lame and says my comment has too few characters per line:
A computer program (also software, or just a program) is a sequence of instructions written to perform a specified task with a computer.[1] A computer requires programs to function, typically executing the program's instructions in a central processor.[2] The program has an executable form that the computer can use directly to execute the instructions. The same program in its human-readable source code form, from which executable programs are derived (e.g., compiled), enables a programmer to study and develop its algorithms.
Computer source code is often written by computer programmers. Source code is written in a programming language that usually follows one of two main paradigms: imperative or declarative programming. Source code may be converted into an executable file (sometimes called an executable program or a binary) by a compiler and later executed by a central processing unit. Alternatively, computer programs may be executed with the aid of an interpreter, or may be embedded directly into hardware.
Computer programs may be categorized along functional lines: system software and application software. Two or more computer programs may run simultaneously on one computer, a process known as multitasking. -
Re:The Death of Y'z Dock
This is probably actually a move to advance that agenda--Apple's paranoia about its software running on generic hardware actually extends to any representation of its interface running on generic hardware. There have been about a dozen Windows dock applications under various names, many of which have gotten cease-and-desist orders. Aqua-Soft has been something of a hub for this kind of stuff in the past, and their various policies and histories are very prominent indirect evidence of exactly what the landscape looks like. (They used to host things more directly, if I recall.)
I wonder if StarDock will come under fire for ObjectDock. -
Re:Oh, it's a list you want?
3. Has a system tray icon, but still appears in the taskbar.
Preferences - Advanced - General - Minimise to System Tray. And keep it minimised.
4. Doesn't use global HID-device keys. For example, winamp pauses when i hit the pause key, no matter what application is in the foreground. iTunes doesn't.
Install iTunes Multi-Plugin. -
Re:charging for . release? In reply to your minor points:
On Konfabulator- Understood, although I was more referring to Windows users who also use Windowsblinds/StyleXP to "dress" their system up like OS X, in which case they are often emulating Konfabulator, although you are correct. Aqua-Soft Is one site dedicated to it.
On MS's new fonts- Because MS's new fonts are free, even to OS X users
;)I hope my post doesn't have tinge of Mac hating to it, becuase I love OS X, I just don't like Apple for their arrogant marketing.

Yes but. . .

Re:Has anyone discovered...
Looks just like the option menus I used to get from MultiPlugin. It doesn't seem to work with iTunes 4.5 though.

Exposé for WindowsExposé is exactly what I think we need. Sphere XP is doing the same general thing... you see all the windows at a glance, click the one you want, and it's brought to the foreground. The problem is that a 3D world is too hard to navigate efficiently.
Enter... iEx - an Exposé clone for Windows. It doesn't appear to have very active development but it works pretty well (I've only been using it for the past five minutes). It only runs on Windows XP.

Re:Great! Now for Windows!
If you go here and sign up for the forums, you can find an application called iEx, by siwu, that isn't a terrible expose clone for Windows. It still has its problems, but works reasonably well.
