Google may be rich, but they are nowhere near big enough to bankrupt Viacom. Viacom has a revenue of over $9.6 Billion USD, whilst Google has $10.6 Billion (according to Wikipedia), but this isn't the case of a smaller firm trying to sue a giant. If anything, Viacom, as a conglomerate, will probably have greater cash reserve and certainly has more assets which can be sold off in the event of it needing more cash.
States and countries are banning using cell phones in cars left, right and centre and Microsoft, hot on the heels of the latest trends as always, decides the best place to put a PC is right on the dashboard.
The BBC has been doing this for ages in the "Your Photos" section of their site, which gets reused inside stories. I remember them doing it as far back as the London 7/7 bombings, because they had all the photos from the inside of the carriages.
That isn't the issue. They advertised as selling a higher res video, but they're realling selling it at the same res, only upconverted. So they're selling the same product again to people, and claiming it is a different product.

It really is rather impressive. This project has really had quite a bit of influence on this current generation of Operating Systems; If you look at Apple's Dashboard, the whole "flip the window over for the settings panel" originated there. I am a supporter of developers "copying" or "ripping off" features from other OSes as long as it leads to a better user experience, so I think it's all fine myself.
You probably don't see them: a lot of them are very well hidden and in difficult places to spot, like on arrays on top of tower blocks looking down onto the street. If you've ever been into a control room where which actually sees through the cameras, then you would realise how much of the country is actually carpeted in CCTV. Basicly, if you're in a town which is large enough to have it's own council it is very unlikely that you are not on CCTV when you are in the street.
Mozilla isn't giving many details on the soon-to-be-launched Firefox 2, but Dotzler says there will be new features not found in current browsers.'"
Is it just me, or has there been an RC out for FF2 for a while now? And we even have a FF3 alpha, Minefield?
Aside from the usual High School "Scientifically fair test" basic stuff: like for like testing with control options and keeping other non calculated factors constant, the best benchmark is the application you plan to run with the hardware, or very close. Nothing can tell you exactly how well it will perform except the actual app you are running, becuase now days setups are so complex and individual hardware and software components rely on so many different factors that it's easy to produce a test which looks like it might give a good gauge of performance in similar apps, but actually doesnt.
Opera 9.0 seems to offer a lot of decent additions to Opera's standards pool. How satisfied are you personally with the work the team has done on implementing standards, and is there anything in there you feel is superflous and anything you would have preferred to see which wasn't in there?
I've been using Truecrypt for a while. It's Open Source, and has a multitude of peer reviewed algorithms, including AES amoungst others. http://www.truecrypt.org/ Highly recommended. It also has advanced features such as steganography and hidden volumes inside other volumes.
He was very sharp indeed. This post actually displays an understanding of the theory behind certain issues. I admit I was wrong in my line of argument in that article btw, I simply wanted to argue with Steve:)
This particular post is the one I'm talking about.
Or at least one of those little bags of peanuts which they give you on the plane.
Considering the Prime Meridian runs through the middle of Greenwich, UK, half of the UK is in fact in the Western Hemisphere

The problem is that MS actually makes one of these as well. I believe MSN offers a particularly annoying toolbar for IE.

And Capitalist states never tell their citizens what products they can and can't use? When was the last time you saw MJ being legitimately sold?
I'm assuming you've never heard of a proxy server? MSN has support for these.
450 days of rain? In a 365 day year? Jeeze, that's only -85 days of sun a year!

Actually Opera does outline security issues which were fixed in each new incremental version: Opera Changelogs
So what is so Politically Correct about this new BSD? Did they remove the Advertising Clause from the liscence or something?
