Re:Australian Space Research Institute
There is a donation form on their website, with details of a bank account into which money can be deposited. Someone needs a paypal (or equivalent) account?

Re:Australian Space Research Institute
The closest Australia has to a Space Agency is the Australian Space Research Institute. It falls into the category of a serious amateur effort, staffed by volunteers and funded by donations. Underfunded Australian research programs tend to hit above their weight with innovative solutions, simply because they don't have the money to pay for a more conventional solution.
We should chuck them some money for some SpaceX launches.

Re:Try the Velleman K8000Man, 150 US for that. The Australian equivalent costs about 30 US. It is a parallel port interface available from Dick Smith Electronics. Reputedly one has been part of the instrument package on Ausroc
Anyroad up, doesn't anybody remember the first soundcards? Strings of resistors off the parallel port.

The Australian Space Program
The australian space program has a web site here that has a blurb about the new contract. Looking through the site's old news and programs, it looks like this new merger with Russia is far from the Australian excursion into space. They've launched several satelites, and done small scale research for quite a while. The new contract will expand their operations significantly however.

Amateurs Force NASA's Hand
NASA never really does anything unless it is forced to do so in order to avoid embarrassment. In this case, it is most likely the amateur rocketeers at the Australian Space Research Institute Scramjet Project that are forcing NASA to actually do something other than put women, minorities and geriatric white guys on an infrequently flying Shuttle.
