Re:Valuable lesson for next over-hyped female CEO
Just because your an SJW and you WANT some woman or minority to be the savior who proves that a female or minority can be just as good as any man, doesn't mean that you should automatically jump on the hype train just because they have dark skin or a vagina.
I don't believe anyone here suggested hiring anyone just because of gender. I suppose you could argue that misogyny played a role in the recent election, but I think it is secondary at best. The most accurate word I've seen to describe the core of the recent election is, gaslighting. You can find more examples on google.

How to complain about the articles that are totall
How to complain about the articles that are totally misleading? for example: consider an article submitted by timothy Carbon Dating Shows Koran May Predate Muhammad 304. If you will check the date of the parchment in the original article it is AD 568 and 645, on the other hand the date given in timothy's article is 545 AD and 568. This typo in date changes the meaning of the news, probably misleading entirely... The dates from original news speaks exactly opposite of the title submitted by timothy Also who will take the responsibility of spreading wrong information? original article link: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/ne...

Re:Well, that's embarrassing
A bigger oops? That the article's wrong about the dates in the first place.
http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/ne... :
Radiocarbon analysis has dated the parchment on which the text is written to the period between AD 568 and 645 with 95.4% accuracy. The test was carried out in a laboratory at the University of Oxford. The result places the leaves close to the time of the Prophet Muhammad, who is generally thought to have lived between AD 570 and 632. -
Nope. Typo.
"545 AD and 568"
1) This was a typo. It was between 568 and 645 AD.
Here's the original article:
http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/ne..."Radiocarbon analysis has dated the parchment on which the text is written to the period between AD 568 and 645 with 95.4% accuracy. 2) They dated the paper, not the ink. It was common to scrape and reuse paper. It also only dates the time the plant or animal died.

Re:This is a great idea!As has been pointed out elsewhere, this can be no substitute for taking a course - but such an initiative is invaluable for people who are studying from home, researching a topic or whatever.
One issue though: Funding. The page says that they're seeking partners for the funding.... How would this work exactly? This engineering course was brought to you today by..?
It'd be interesting if this was extended into an 'Open University' model, which would allow distance learning. Especially if other Universities jumped on the bandwagon (as Mordred indicated), Harvard, Yale, Oxbridge - or even my old Uni, Birmingham, UK.
