Personally, I swear by the Kinesis keyboard. Pick up one from www.dmb-ergonomics.com I've even purchased one for my mother - she swears, like I do, it will improve typing speed and longevity by about 30% if not better. Its not the ultra high dollar one like the datahand (which goes for $1000), but it definate does the job. If you go with the MS ergo keyboard, which I've had two of them so far, and IMO they are a nice idea but a very very bad design! Specifically, the throws, and how far you push down on each key strains a bit more. Go from "N" to "Y" on these keyboards and see what I mean.

Funny, no one has come up with the 'Porn' key. It could be on the web keyboards that are out there. Just like when you want to retrieve your mail you hit the mail key, well, when you want to see porn, you hit the porn key. Now that is doing something that the consumers want!

Agreed - good ideas, poor designs. I tell ya, I'd go for a wireless keyboard if Kinesis had them. I swear by that keyboard! And I hate to advertise for a product of which I have no affiliation, but its much better than the M$ ergo - the throws are much shorter, but you get to typing about 30% faster. For about 250 bucks, its a lot for a keyboard, but think of it like caffeine in your body since you can type faster.

If it was on DVD, I'd buy it! It would be one of those memorobilia type of things for me. And it would also prove to the public how poorly Valenti goes against DeCSS. In the depositions, its very unclear what he is even standing for. He only knows "its bad", but with the public, its a different story - and he seems so well informed.

actually I believe they will be reviewing a different version of the system. Lets put this into perspective from what we are most familiar with. They will be reviewing a compiled version of DOS 5.0 as Windows ME (the POS edition) is on the shelves.

I agree, the question was entirely avoided. "Network management tools" - that only tells me he looked it up in hacking for dummies or on webopedia.com. ugh!

Why should mom and pop shops have to spend the extra time doing that? I'm sure its a ploy to get mom and pop shops to buy Ghost (which used to be worth a damn back when it was just GhostSoft, but Norton, I don't trust that guy at all). I fully support the mom and pop shops. They typically give good trade ins (or else you dump it at the local goodwill computer shop) and they have great service if you get a mb or hdd that goes bad. As for the comments about the dell factory installs, yup, that's correct - might as well, format and reinstall the entire os to make it peachy clean.

Myth - Linux is easier to use than windows.

Fact - Linux has all of those commands that users have to memorize, when in fact they can be mezmorized by our new graphical features such as drop shadows on pointers that will 'point' you into the right direction where you need to go for that particular operation you wish to execute. And hey, if we didn't put it in a logical spot, then wait for the next version, we're sure to move it into a different spot and make it a little more sluggish, but we still say it will out perform lin..er...the last version.

Myth - there are more linux power users than windows power users

Fact - at microsoft, we produce more and more mcse's on a day to day basis. we make sure that all of the industry's IT staff knows how to install IIS4 on a standard NT Server installation. The IT people that we furnish do not know how to install a floppy drive - thats for the hardware people to figure out.

boy, I'm not an everyday linux power user like others out there, and I still run windows for company compatibility and a few games, but man...that ms article is going to make me wake up on the wrong side of the bed tomorrow.

ethical reasoning will be more of a virtue in the future. some of the hackers (not crackers!) out there are quite ethical when spoofs and breaches are made, suppling the individuals with information to correct the issue, however, its not always going to be on the case. I just have a feeling that the government will lock all the computer geeks and gurus up, and will grant a pardon for the first individual to show the warden what to do when a pretty blue screen that says Fatal Exception OE has occurred. Gee...I wonder.
