The Big AppleNow I need to find a town with Cablevision service to move to...
Cablevision services metro New York.
4.7 million residential customers. 600,000 businesses.
No where else in the U.S. - no where else in the Western Hemisphere - will you find so tightly compacted and rich a market.
Cablevision owns Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the Ziegfield Theater and other legendary houses.
Cablevision owns MSG, MSG Plus, Fuse, American Movie Classics, The Independent Film Channel, The Sundance Channel and We.tv.
Cablevision owns Long Island's "Newsday."

Not the CEOCharles F. "Chuck" Dolan is the founder and Chairman of Cablevision. The President and CEO, is his son James L. Dolan.
They are more than just employees, they control the company.
As others have mentioned, having a Verizon box in the street in front of your house, does not necessarily mean that you are a customer. -

Another nice deal...
CableVision offers an even nicer deal with their OptimumOnline. For $30 for the first 6 months ($45 each month after), you get 10mbit down/1mbit up cable internet, with a free modem. I tend to realistically sustain no more than 8mbit/sec down though, but it's still amazing (no monthly cap)

read the fine print
...Next thing you know, telecoms will be liable for medical malpractice if the network connections fail during remote robotic surgery."...
I like lawyer bashing as much as the next human but buy just about any grade of service from any telco and you have signed an agreement which, in some obscure paragraph, says more or less "provider will not be held liable for consequential damages that may result from interrupted service". The Disruption of Service clause for Cablevision is typical. -

Re:Rochester NY areaOptimum Online is a service of Cable Vision, not Verizon.
I am also in Northern NJ, and get 5 Mbit / 1 Mbit for $50 per month from them. Rock solid connection, no download caps (not that I've seen anyway) and worth every penny imho.

The name of the ISP: Buckeye Express/CablevisionI'm amazed that I couldn't (quickly) find a post that listed the name of the ISP in question. Obviously, customers should avoid an ISP that appears to have used the FBI to attack thier customers.
The Toledo Blade article lists the ISP as "Buckeye Express" which appears to be a Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) company. According to thier Corporate Information/Company Overview page they also own Madison Square Garden (and related teams), The WIZ, Radio City Music Hall, and Clearview Cinemas. Think carefully about with whom you do business.

Re:T-Shirt does NOT equal Free Speech...I'm not sure I can agree with you on this one.
I should have said "Federal courts". Some state constitutions provide additional rights, among them California, Massachusetts, Oregon and New Jersey. This article says Minnesota is not one of them.
