Re:Interesting
While one cannot be certain what exactly will happen, history has shown us that people usually react fairly strongly to anything that gets in the way of their freedom. And Americans have certainly proven this point.
When exactly in the last years?
There is a difference between rumours of elections being rigged versus actual evidence.
I'd say the evidence is there just nobody seems interested in picking it up. Might be because some KGB^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Federal institutions are actively persecuting people who have differing opinions?
Remember: Elections are not a sign of democracy. Hitler was democratically elected (besides, he won most of his wars and took personal responsibility after obviously loosing the last one). They are necessary, but they are not enough. -
Re:There's a lot of potential
That is interesting considering the Greenhouse pollution we're talking about, governed by Bush's "Clear Skies" laws, is only increasing, even according to the page to which you linked.
Also interesting is the broad consensus that "Clear Skies" increases pollution compared with the laws it replaces. Concessions to polluters like discarding requirements to upgrade old coal plants to clean ones when they're replaced, requirements which the coal/power industry accepted in exchange for less tough original requirements when the prior laws were passed. The reality of "Clear Skies", better titled "Dirty Skies", is interesting to everyone except the polluters and their covert actions to protect their pollution privileges. Dick Cheney, is that you? -
Re:Newspapers are dead. Long live newspapers.
The Columbia Journalism Review covered this issue last week.

Re:What is it with US and the word "illegal"
I highly recommend this site:

They are very good at pointing out what is good reporting and what is bad reporting. Unfortunately, they point out more of the latter....

Re:Mod FUNNY
Be surprised
:-p
Ok, it was a quick check, and not national security here, but although CNN is better than many news sources (*cough* *fox* *cough*), they still do plenty of dubious reporting. Read the site - it's good :-)

Mod FUNNYWow - this got moderated "Interesting" instead of "Funny"?? What's wrong with the moderators today?
There may well be excellent journalists working for indymedia, but responsible journalists do not allow anonymous, unchecked "facts" into their news output.
If this is the case, then there are almost no repsonsible journalists out there - you might as well close down CNN for that...
See http://www.cjrdaily.org/, an excellent site showing inaccuracies in reporting and facts that are glossed over.
